Natural History Museum Eclipse Glasses

[Digital] i bought this for a b-day gift for my husband, who researches whaling history. he is able to use it to magnify museum art, old engravings, handwriting in ship log journals, scrimshawed carvings -- and ordinary things around the house like examining tiny tick bites, removing splinters, identifying bugs in the garden and looking at everyday items in a new, enlarged and enhanced way. everyone who sees him use it wants to try it. even the dirt under your fingernails becomes fascinating viewing. and it's so easy to attach to an apple device! very well designed and made.

However, there are a few important precautions to keep in mind. Firstly, let's talk about their primary purpose: viewing eclipses. These glasses offer superb protection for your eyes during solar events, allowing you to witness the celestial dance safely. The clarity and crispness of the view were remarkable, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. However, it's crucial to emphasize that these glasses are not suitable for activities like driving, even on sunny days. While they excel at blocking out the intense light of the sun, they also significantly reduce visibility. Attempting to operate a vehicle while wearing them would be extremely dangerous, as you simply won't be able to see the road or other vehicles properly. Furthermore, I must stress the importance of not using these glasses for activities such as surgery or woodworking. The diminished visibility could lead to serious accidents, potentially resulting in injury. It's not worth the risk, so please exercise caution and use appropriate eye protection for such tasks. In summary, the DayStar Filters Eclipse Glasses are fantastic for viewing eclipses and protecting your eyes during solar events. However, they are not suitable for driving or engaging in hazardous activities where clear vision is essential. Stay safe and enjoy the wonders of the cosmos responsibly!

[12 VDC] I shoot everything from blue-chip natural history to documentary to smaller commercials and these lights have proven themselves in all environments I've thrown at them. Great as a backlight, perfect for macro work, fantastic interview light when coupled with a natural practical, and the magnetized back makes setup lightning-quick. Definitely recommend these for any kit.

[0.175 lb] This 50mm lens is sharp and get's you close to natural history subjects without disturbing natural behavior. I would like to see a 100mm lens added to the X7 quiver. The 50mm is a must have to provide a closer aerial perspective to tell your story.
