[Latch] Fits my pair of Neumann KM 184 perfectly. Great case for gear bag.

[Side Address] In my project studio I record various acoustic instruments such as guitar, upright bass and violin. I also record vocals and various hand percussion. I have traditionally used small condensers such as Neumann KM 184's and AKG C451-B's but was craving the sound that only a large diaphragm can deliver. I love AKG products especially those built in Vienna. So far have only used the 214 on vocals, acoustic guitar and middle eastern percussion and it more than met my expectations. I love the AKG sound. To me AKG's are not as transparent as Neumann BUT that is what I dig about it..it brings a bit of color and an openness. At the price point..this is a must have mic..you can never go wrong with AKG

[Phantom Power] I have a project studio and record primarily acoustic instruments (Guitar, piano, various stringed instruments, hand percussion and vocals etc) Already own a set of Neumann KM 184's and an AKG C214 Large Diaphragm but have always had a fondness for the AKG small diaphragm sound ever since I started out years ago with a Vienna made C1000 (which I still have and love). I wanted another small diaphragm option and the 451's deliver big time. To be totally non technical I would describe the AKG's sound as open and airy especially on fingerstyle acoustic guitar. I tell people think of the old Windham Hill guitar sound. (yes I know they used Neumann's too). You will not go wrong with this mic if you play acoustic music.

[Omnidirectional] Well, these Neumann mics are just the very best I have ever used for acoustic guitar. I've tried everything, all the way up to the highest quality ribbon mic, and these small diaghram Neumann mics are just what's needed. I have not compared them with competing quality small diaghram mics, but this is a great stereo pair for what I need - recording classical guitar and steel string acoustic guitar. I'm looking no further.

[Omnidirectional] I'm a professional classical guitarist and these mics (like the other km 184 mics I have used) are top quality with excellent sound reproduction. As classical guitarists will tell you, recording a good classical guitar sound is difficult. These mics are an important part of the recording chain (the others being excellent cables, good preamps and ad da converters).

[Foam] This Neumann WNS100 foam windscreen fits most KM style microphones. Its teardrop shape provides maximum protection against air movement from the front while minimizing the effects of covering the side ports thereby maintaining good pattern control. I would call this a pop screen. This and most foam windscreens are of minimal value outdoors where a basket type windscreen is more effective.
