[0.905 lb] I think this is the best finder scope i have tried. I have tried red dot finders and finder scopes, but this is the easiest to use as it's easy to align to the telescope with the knobs on the back, has rings to show how close to the target you are and makes it easy to find what part of the sky you are looking at. Sometimes i don't even use the mounts go to and i just star hop along. I also use it to for the three star alignment.

This mount is a must for night vision and Thermal scopes! Allows for quick release to: 1) switch guns 2) charge the scope off the rifle 3) view the hunt off the rifle And the one shot zero quickly confirms that you mounted it back where it was.

[-3.0 to +2.0] Make no mistake. This scope is a big 56mm and a bit heavy but the payoff is a huge, bright view. I mostly hunt hog and coyote during twilight and night. I'd say this is probably not the scope you want if you can only hunt during the day but if you can legally hunt at night this scope is a significant improvement over a 40mm or even a 50mm scope. It's not gen 3 night vision but if there is some moon or sky glow it's quite effective. This illuminated reticle is understated and very effective at precise shooting or longer ranges. During the day with a light background you don't really notice that it's illuminated but against a dark target the glowing dot marks the center of your cross hairs. As the light fades the fiber optic automatically adjusts the dot's brightness so well that I don't understand why they made it adjustable. At night the dot gently glows bright enough to be clearly visible but not enough to hurt your night vision. I am still amazed that the illumination works so perfectly without adjustment, no on/off and no batteries. There is noticeable chromatic aberration around the perimeter but the image is sharp in the center and it is very noticeably brighter than my 40mm and 50mm Nikon Buckmasters and 50mm Redfield scopes.

[2x AAA] We use these extensively on the boat during trips. Great at night and also has red LED's to protect night vision.

[34 mm] Love this scope! Read about people saying the reticle isn't visible at night, and i have no idea what they are talking about. I have not been able to find a situation that i can't easily see the illumination. I previously had a red dot for close quarters, after my initial learning period, i am now as fast as i was with the red dot . Faster in some aspects.

[Green] The Vortex Strikefire II is an amazing green/red dot system. It has two lower settings for night-vision compatibility. I find the green easier to view due to an astigmatism. Vortex really makes some great products and the warranty is top notch. You really can't go wrong with their optics, whether a red dot, scope, or a pair of binos. You won't regret your purchase one bit, I know I don't.

[-5 to +5] It does affect my night vision when I use it, but because its two red LEDs turn on at MINIMUM BRIGHTNESS it does not affect it much. Power and brightness are controlled by a small thumbwheel, like the volume control on a portable radio. I have another red light but it starts out way too bright. I never use it because of this. It comes with a 9V battery and seems to have good battery life. It is not water or weather resistant. The lanyard is quite good: simple and functional. I can put it around my neck with plenty of slack.
