[0.52 lb] After reading online reviews (Youtube etc..) stating issues with infinity focus and softness wide open, I bought the product and had none of these issues. The product works perfectly. It does all that I need it to...changes the mount from Nikon F to M43, Increases the frame size by x0.71 and gives and extra stop of light. It feels like a well made product and the lens mounts are tight and smooth. Lens and body release mechanisms work well. For Nikon AI, AI-s lenses, just close the aperture on the lens and use the aperture ring on the adapter. The Viltox adapter aperture ring has hard click stops. I'm using it for BMPCC4K and Nikon AI and AI-S lenses so I didn't need auto-focus and I wasn't excited about spending the money for Metabones. The online critics fail to mention that the product has an adjustment for rotating the adapter lens glass for achieving infinity focus if it is initially not possible. Loosen the holding screw and turn the camera side glass counterclockwise. Different lenses require different amounts of adjustment so consideration should be given to this. (Multiple units?) If the lens is soft and hazy wide open then this product won't make it any better but when the lens is sharp and has good contrast without it then it will be fine with it. If you just require manual focus then $78 is a steal compared to the metabones

[62 mm (Front)] Nikon AI-S lenses are usually built really well, and the smooth manual focus ring is always pleasant to use. This 20mm f/2.8 lens is no different, especially for its small size. Much better than the ratchety quality of the focus rings found on modern M/A lenses. To each their own, but I am not a professional photographer and I do not need the convenience of auto-focus. I find manually focusing to be an enjoyable part of the photographic process. The camera(s) on my phone are more than good enough when I just need a quick convenient shot of something. As a bonus, I also do not have to contend with the off-putting high pitched whines of auto-focus motors, especially in quieter settings. It's also one less thing to worry about when it comes to maintenance or equipment lifespan. Get these lenses new while you still can!

[200] I have the Nikon F version of this macro tube set. If you want to add macro capability to your existing lenses, this is probably the cheapest way to do that. Are there any compromises due to the price? Optically, no, not as far as I can see. Build quality is acceptable, but doesn't feel premium. The screw threading attachment system is very functional, but means it takes longer to change your extension length; bellows would be super quick, but with this you might need to disassemble and reassemble everything multiple times if you don't get the magnification ratio you want right away. Also, since there are no electronic contacts, you have to change the aperture on the lens, not the camera body, so G lenses, AF-S P or E electronically controlled lenses will be difficult to use with these tubes. For those lenses, you will want something more high-tech. However, for Pre-AI, AI-S, or AF-D lenses, this will be great. I think one very cool use of these tubes is adapting projector lenses or other non-standard optics; just get the required flange distance, add a helicons for focusing, and you have a pretty sweet setup on the cheap. I would love to try that at some point!

[Aluminum] This adapter lets me use the old HN-12 lens hood with 52mm CPL on Ai/Ai-s lenses shooting on a Nikon d810. The HN-12 was designed for the 52mm Nikon Polar filter, the only Nikon accessory that does not have its own model number. This filter has a 52mm back thread and a 60mm front thread. I have not seen current CPL filters with this design. The Heliopan adaptor is a convenient way to share a 52mm CPL to a single hood among several lenses. I have not seen this ratio in other adaptors. The HN-12 does a good job reducing internal reflections and flare.

[f/32] Nikon AI-S lenses are usually built really well, and the smooth manual focus ring is always pleasant to use. The focusing helicoid on this lens seems to have been dialled to have a much firmer response, which is perfect for the precise focusing required for macro work. Much better than the ratchety quality of the focus rings found on modern M/A lenses. To each their own, but I am not a professional photographer and I do not need the convenience of auto-focus. [Sony E] Works like advertised. I use it with the Nikon Nikkor AI 35mm F2 (Nikon F Mount Ai) for a Sony a6500; fits tight, focus ♾. Great buy.

[Yes] First of all, I am not a professional photographer.  Im simply a true amateur who plays with a lot of different photographic tools.  While Im not a pro by any means...I do appreciate the good stuff and Ive owned and used a lot of the truly expensive cameras and glass. I bought a new Canon M3 about a year and half ago...but seldom used it.  I like to shoot using prime lenses...and one of my favorites is my Nikon AI-S 50mm f1.2 manual focus lens.  That particular lens acts like an 80mm lens on the M3 and I get wonderful results when I nail the focus.  I thought about buying the Nikon 35mm f1.4 AI-S lens but hesitated due to the average used price for a really nice one being $400+. So when I discovered this lens for 1/4th the price I just had to try it.  Ive only had the lens now for about two hours...but Ill let the attached pictures speak for themselves.  Perhaps all the pros will throw darts...but my first impression is really good.  In addition to giving good results the lens appears to be well built.  The focus action is buttery smooth and the clickless 9-blade aperture control ring is also as smooth as silk. Ill repeat my headline...What have you got to lose?  Try it.

[Metal] Is amazing. Infinity focus maintained, and now I can use my old Nikkor AI-s lenses on my Canon 80D!
