Nikon Camera Backpack Layout

When I bring my Nikon Z5 out on a hike, I'm usually carrying a backpack and pair of binoculars as well, so adding a camera neck or shoulder strap is a recipe for tangled straps and sore shoulders. I've been using a SpiderPro belt to carry my cameras for almost 4 years now and I swear by their system. I'm glad they added Arca-Swiss compatibility to this plate (I also have their DSLR plate for my D750, and I have to mount an addition QR plate to it when I plan to put the camera on a tripod). This version is nicely streamlined on a Nikon Z5/6/7. My only quibble is that the metal knob on the bottom feels a bit awkward when using certain lenses--it just forces me to hold the lens differently than I normally would.

[0.9 lb] We love to hike at National Parks and the Nikon Z50 has been my camera of choice because of its light weight. However, it was not comfortable to carry by the strap because it bounded around, and carrying a sling style bag made it impossible to carry a backpack. The Cotton Skout has been a perfect solution. It is very comfortable, keeps my Z50 at the ready, and doesn't interfere with my day backpack.

[6.8 lb] I purchased this bag because I was looking for the all-encompassing adventure camera backpack. What I got what much more than that! The Voyager was able to fit my Nikon D500 with a 200-500 mm lens attached, Nikon z6, Nikon 24-70s lens, Nikon 50 mm 1.8 Sigma 70-200 mm lens, flash, my macbook 15 laptop, my iPad Pro, clothes for a 2 day trip, my battery holder as well as chargers, my SD card holder, my drone and so many more accessories. The waist straps and sternum strap all make it easy to carry while on the go without feeling like the backpack is weighing a ton on your back. It has a side access pocket for when I'm on the move. It makes my camera easily accessible so that I never feel like I have to unload everything to get to my camera.The Voyager is not only functional, but it is also the best looking bag I've seen in the market yet (trust me, I've searched for it). I couldn't be happier with my pick! Only thing I wish was available is a rain bag for when hiking during the colder weather.

[0.455 lb] Using this pouch to protect my D800 with a Nikon 24-85mm 2.8-4 and its lens hood (reversed mounted). The pouch could have have a little longer lip (where the snaps are located), but this is minor 'complaint'. The pouch really does a nice job to protect the camera from small bumps and all sort of scratches. I place the camera in the pouch (learnt how to do it from a youtube tutorial I found) and there it goes into my backpack (not a photography equipment backpack) with a whole bunch of other things. The pouch is most suitable, I think, to protect the camera during transportation, and not so much for casual shooting, when you take the camera in and out the pouch.

[5.5 lb] I had to upgrade my backpack because I needed additional room for a rental Nikon Lens 600M and one more camera (NikonZ8) for an upcoming winter wonderland in Yellowstone!! My smaller backpack could not accommodate the rental equipment. Very well made and happy with my purchase!

[Zipper] I love this backpack. Fits my Nikon z50 mirrorless camera with 500mm Nikor lens on it along with 2 other lenses and cleaning supplies. Outer pockets for drink and tripod. Top pocket for phone. Live the opening against my body, but ease of access when laid flat. Happy with purchase

[Drawstring] Wanted something to protect my camera in my backpack when traveling. My Nikon A-1000, and battery and charging cord fit perfectly. Case is well padded and well made, also very lightweight.
