[180° to 175°] Just received my Nikon 8-15mm Fisheye lens. Haven't used it a lot yet. The 8mm circular photo is cool. I do not think this will be an everyday lens, but I know it will be a lot of fun.

[0.665 lb] I recently got my first dSLR, the Canon Rebel XSi, and I've always been a fan of fisheye photography. I know when it's overused, as with anything, it can become dull, but when kept in moderation, one can attain some really interesting shots. I played around with Canon's 15mm Fisheye, but that's designed for full-frame sensors, so I'd get a slight fisheye effect while using it on my XSi. Although the images were nice and the f/2.8 definitely gives it an edge, it wasn't for me. I was eyeing the Sigma 10mm DC designed for crop-sensor cameras, and was certain I'd be purchasing that one, but then I saw this Tokina 10-17mm lens. Not only was it cheaper, but it gives me the flexibility of having the 10mm extreme fisheye effect, or narrow it to 17mm to obtain just a fairly wide angle shot, while reducing the overall fisheye effect. This allows for more versatility and I've been very happy with my purchase. If/when I ever jump to a full-frame sensor, I'll most likely purchase Canon's 15mm Fisheye. Until then, this is an excellent lens. The only negative, if you can even call it that, is the lens cover is slightly difficult to get on and off.

[180°] I really love this little lens. I had planned on picking up the canon 15mm fisheye - then they pulled it out of production??? Anyway I did not want to drop that much money for the canon 8-15mm f/4 L lens, so i gave this on a shot and i am very happy. If you are looking for the fisheye effect for your full frame canon, take a serious look at the lens. Please note to get the full image (on a full frame camera) you need to remove the sleeve around the lens, that the lens cap attaches to (not just the lens cap). If you just remove the lens cap, you will get you image in a circle, surrounded by black. The sun shade is permanently attached to the lens and offers a little bit of protection to the front of the lens.

[Full-Frame] I'm using the Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye Lens for Canon to create some dramatic HDR images. I really like the curvature of the lens and it adds great impact to my images. The resulting images are very clean and the effects are not so strong as to add just a touch of distortion without going too far.

[f/3.5 to 4.5] Excellent IQ. As an exotic lens, the newest Nikon 8-15 Fisheye is an exquisite creative tool. It is supremely sharp, contrasty, and saturated across all focal lengths and apertures. It is extremely sharp in the center at all focal lengths and apertures. Out of the gate, corner sharpness is excellent wide open with slight vignetting (easily corrected). Stop down to f/5.6 and the corner sharpness is outstanding and the slight vignetting is gone. I made direct comparison in sharpness with the 14-24/2.8 lens when I first bought the fisheye lens. Overall sharpness is on par with the 14-24/2.8 if youre pixel peeping. The 8-15 fisheye has wonderful color rendition. I didnt notice any lens flare in strong lighting. One weakness is the slight purple chromatic aberration around tree twigs against a bright sky. Good news is that its easily corrected in post with no detriment to edge delineation. The provided lens hood starts to vignette your frame below 14mm - youll have to remove it, and use a lens shade. The lens cap is great and very easy and secure. Overall lens build quality is very good. Plastic, but light. Color rendition, contrast, sharpness are all excellent. Its the best fisheye Nikon has ever made optically. Theres a learning curve to frame your shots, but remember youre close to 180-degree F.O.V. Itll give you a unique perspective no other wide angle can provide.

[0.085 lb] I ordered a black LensCoat Hoodie for a Nikon Zoom Fisheye that came with a slip on lens cap that could easily be lost. It exceeds expectations. It attaches securely and provides great protection to an expensive lens. I will be ordering another one for a super wide lens that came with a poor lens cap and am checking out the hoods on lens that came with good caps that are not useful with the hood attached.

[f/3.5] The Rokinon 8mm Fisheye Lens for Nikon F mount is a great, lightweight lens at an amazing price. It attaches smoothly to my Nikon D7100 and is fun as well as an enhancement tool for dramatic, creative landscapes.
