Nikon Super Zoom 8

[f/22] Yes, you read correctly! I am a Nikon shooter, having both Z6 and a Z7 mirrorless cameras. My favorite non Nikon lenses are the Canon 100-400mm super telephoto zoom and this 11-24mm lens. I always wanted to own some Canon glass but being a dyed in the wool Nikon user this was not going to happen, till now. The Fringer EF to Z lens adapter changed everything. My Nikon's fully control this Canon lens plus it adds the optical image stabilization of the camera itself. Sweet! As many other reviewers have written, this is a very special lens, not meant for many photographic situations. That said, when used at its zoomed in range it behaves like a normal wide angle lens and can be used as general purpose glass. But when you need some super-wide coverage, just twist the ring and voila. Obviously at 11mm you are going to get serious perspective distortion. But with the right subject it's less noticeable. The first mistake of a newby is not getting close enough to your subject. The second is not being absolutely parallel to it in both horizontal and vertical planes unless you want an exaggerated effect. My previous super-wide zoom lens was a Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 but designed only for cropped DX imagers resulting in an actual 16.5-24mm range. For my industrial photography or equipment racks with only a couple of feed of room, this was insufficient. Plus the lens didn't produce images worth writing home about. I've only had this lens for a few days, so I have lots of experimentation ahead. I'm documenting the effects on my small town community of the CORVID-19 pandemic and spent a couple of hours with only this lens on the Nikon for practice. My sample images are a mix of the grandeur of nature and the impact of measures to stay safe.

[Black] I have owned virtually every super telephoto lens that Nikon builds and this versatile zoom is tack sharp at every distance. It handles a 1.4 tele converter with no obvious degradation of sharpness. It is a tad heavy and it is expensive but it is an amazing tool.

[32 W ] First, 60W will probably meet your needs in a small video studio. I only use 2-8% of the output. Secondly, a standard modifier platform (Bowens' S mount), has saved me a great deal of time. The lower cost silent heads would only accept barndoors, gaffing tape and aluminum foil. Far Far easier to repurpose old modifiers or purchase new. Previously, I would have to retape the foil at inopportune times. SILENCE is critical for me. Recording a cast once correctly is worth all the post processing in the world. Nothing beats SILENCE.
