[Glass] If you know what an insert slate is, you can skip the next paragraph. If you're new to filmmaking, please read: This is a very small slate at 4x5. A previous reviewer exclaims, This thing is a toy! It is not. Insert slates are very helpful tools for marking tight insert shots where the frame is too small to fit a full-size slate. Though the clapper sticks are not always needed, it is handy to have them for the times when they are. If you're looking for an insert slate, this one covers all the bases. The construction feels solid and durable, and the sticks have a comfortable amount of tension and resistance. The layout on the dry-erase surface follows common US standards and provides for all the important information. As for the bundle, it is notable that the soft case is a bit larger than the slate, so it is not a snug fit. But padded protection is padded protection, and this pouch is effective for protecting the slate in storage and in transit. This is a great addition to the gear package.

[Black] This is the insert/divider that you want to get. Well padded, the dividers stay upright, and the bright yellow makes it bright enough to recognize your stuff. Don't bother with the black inserts, get this one.

[3.2 lb] I purchased the padded divider insert for my Nanuk 935 to replace the foam insert that I initially got with the case. The padded inserts are a lot more flexible than the foam and allow you to 'perfect' the fit of items contained within. I was able to neatly fit my C300, charger, 1 battery, the camera top handle, the rotating hand unit, an eyecup, the LCD...basically everything needed to set up and start filming....with additional room left for a 17-55 or short zoom lens. Also, I purchased the A-MoDe Limited Lid Organizer for Nanuk 935 to sort out the C300 audio/video cable, charger cables, and flash cards, etc. I plan to use as an airline carry on, but if I have to check in the case, I feel comfortable about that. I purchased add-on locks to replace the clamps that come with the case.

[Yes] I thought I had scored a winner, but the insert is only large enough for a basic small mirrorless kit. I have a Nikon Z8 and various lenses. Just not enough room for what I need. Otherwise, it's a great pack.

[2.25 lb] This is a great insert for those with an Action X30 backpack but have more gear than will fit the medium mirrorless core. I only wish this had come out a year ago when I purchased my X30.
