[Yes] I bought the i9-10920X as a replacement for my i7-7820X because I was in need of more PCI express lanes. Overall, it feels more responsive and the extra 4 cores are nice to have. However, if I was building a brand new machine, I would probably wait for Intel's next gen to come out. 5 |

[Desktop] I have an older MacbookPro 17 with a PCI express slot that I use an ESATA adaptor on, and this smaller portable HD enclosure is perfect. It's the only one that exists as far as I can tell. 5 |

[4 TB] The first step was installing it in a Sabrent model EC-PCIE NVMe M.2 SSD TO PCIe X16/X8/X4 CARD WITH ALUMINUM HEAT SINK (which I DO NOT recommend). That was so this Oyen M.2 SSD could be used in a PCI-e slot. (Basically the problem with the Sabrent adapter was that none of the thermal pads were the right thickness, and there was no guidance on their usage in the instructions. I took my best guess and moved on.) The next step was plugging it into a PCI-e slot on my HP Z640 Workstation's motherboard. I then updated my PC to the latest BIOS. When I booted into Windows 10, I didn't see a new drive. That's because I needed to use the WIndows Disk Management tool to create a partition and then a volume. After that, the drive was visible and usable. 5 |
