[-3 to +18 EV] I am upgrading from a K-7 (yep) into the K-1 Mark II and it has been a really great and easy transition. -First off, most of the controls and menus are exactly what I've seen before which made it really easy to set up right out of the box. I really like the additional dial on the top for quick access to things like HDR, bracketing, WiFi. -Secondly, the weight of this camera is substantial but it feels really well balanced in the hands. I've been shooting with either the Sigma 35mm Art or the Pentax-D FA* 85mm. The 85mm pushes my weight limit a bit and I will get a little tired on a long shoot, but the 35mm feels natural. -Lastly (and this is why I'll stick with Pentax as long as possible) the weather sealing is just something I don't see other manufactures doing. This camera feels like a beast that can take the bumps and bruises. When I'm out shooting I'm not constantly worried about not hurting my camera, this thing is a tank. If you shoot Pentax and need full frame then there (literally) is no other option than to go with this body. I know there are many other options out there if you're willing to switch to Cannon or Nikon but for those looking to stay with Pentax, you won't be disappointed. The only gripe I have is with video capture- No 4k option and no 60p at Full HD. I was impressed with the video none the less. The quality coming out at 1080p 24p was great and for slow motion 720p 60p was above my expectations.

[Stereo ] For all of us who cannot spend the money on the Lecia, Pentax gives us a wonderful Monochrome digital camera. Based on the K3 chassis it is a Monochrome only Pentax K-3 Mark iii. It is an APS-C professional-level camera. With excellent ergonomics that Pentax is known for. Yes everyone is dashing off on mirrorless but the bright, eyeglass-friendly viewfinder is wonderful. With a nice catalog of lenses, this is a black-and-white camera that can be used in any situation. Finally black and white with excellent fine resolution, usable high ISO, and professional grade. The images have fine detail, highlights, and shadows. Easy-to-use menus and settings that address every situation you may encounter. For those who remember all those color filters for black and white are usable to manipulate the the images before tripping the shutter button. Two things to consider. LCD panel does not flip up or rotate. I use a Ref a right angle viewfinder by Pentax. It works well on all the 35mm Pentax cameras and some other brands. It rotates and has a 2x setting which is nice for macro. The other thing I have noticed is the very sensitive shutter button. It has a very sensitive and short motion to trip the shutter. I can highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants to do Monochrome. You will not be disappointed Monochrome is far from a niche place in photography. You see it in many venues. It is not limited now to the conversion of color digital or shooting film. We now have a well thought out Monochrome from Pentax at a more palatable price than Lecia.

[Aluminum] Purchased this item for my new Pentax K200D digital camera. I have two older Pentax cameras in which the filter size is different on them. I do have this particular filter for the older cameras. This is why I purchased it for the new one. I have purchased from B&H before and have always been satisfied...

[1,037,000 Dot] I have been using Pentax digital cameras for 5 years now. I have own and use a Pentax *ist DL, K-x, two K-200D's and now a K-7. I have enjoyed every Pentax camera I have, but the K-7 is truly an artist's camera. Removed of superfluous gimmicks, the K-7 is incredibly versatile and with configurable options and architecture for getting exactly the shot you want. The pictures, especially compared to Canon and Nikon are much sharper, are accepted and edited will in Aperture in RAW format and produce excellent prints and other digital media. The video is excellent and in many ways surpasses other DSLR video I have seen. As with many, it is less than idea in very low light, but does competitively well. The battery grip by Pentax is overpriced in my opinion but still a good option and makes the camera much more ergonomic for the grip. Consider a third party battery grip of good quality. Haven't found anything that is remotely a functional or performance deal breaker with this camera. Great quality build and body, great functionality and superior images. instantly my favorite camera to use.

[96 kHz / 24-Bit] Negative Supply makes a very comprehensive system for scanning film in all formats by using a digital camera and a macro lens. I needed to scan 35mm, so I bought the 35mm LED light source, the 35mm Pro Film Carrier, and the Basic Riser (to which I mounted my digital camera). Everything worked perfectly! By using this system, negatives can be scanned quite quickly, doing an entire roll in a few minutes. Mounting the camera on the riser makes the camera perfectly parallel to the film. The film carrier keeps the film flat and, combined for a good macro lens, my scans were very sharp. Negative Supply's website (www.negative.supply) has a complete explanation of the entire system, including videos on how the various components work.

[Canon EF] I bought this ring adapter, hoping to use 35mm camera lenses on a new digital camera. I am capable now of using 30 year old lenses on my Christmas present, saving me hundreds of dollars!! Totally worth buying!!!

[Leica M] I recently decided to go back to using a digital Leica (M-262) as my primary camera. I was able to afford the purchase by selling my FujiFilm digital kit. To be honest, my cameras were several years old and getting a little long in the tooth. I figured I should sell them before they were worth pennies. I still own a Leica M6 35mm film camera and the most amazing FujiFilm X-100F digital camera. I already own two Leica lenses, a 1970 50mm f2 Summicron and a 90mm 2.4 Summarit. I felt the need for a faster lens. I already owned the Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 Nokton Classic which has great image and build quality so I eagerly awaited the release of the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.2. This lens was anticipated to be an amazing alternative to the very expensive Leica 50mm lenses. I purchased my lens from B&H Photo in New York. I have always had good luck purchasing from them as they are very trustworthy and reputable. My Lens arrived new and amazingly well constructed as I expected. I do wish the lens came with the matching hood and maybe a dust pouch or bag. It just came in standard protective box and packaging (yawn). I think they are missing the mark by not adding some updated presentation packaging. I have found the lens to be very sharp and has a very nice Bokeh. Any lack of sharpness has been caused by being out of practice with the manual focus rangefinder, my eyes starting to age, astigmatism in my dominant eye and my now use of the dreaded spectacles. I am amazed at the image quality and construction of the Voigtlander. I have owned many 50mm lenses from different manufacturers to include the Canon 50mm L 1.2 and I have to say that this little guy (Voigtlander) takes the cake. It has amazing character to it. [f/5.6] You can get really close with this. I use it for turning my 35mm developed films into digital format.

Get more for your money 2024-05-01 09:59:28

[49 mm (Front)] Nothing against this lens at all but for $ more you can get the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 .And we all know thats why none of the Pentax lens that are between 18mm and 40mm prime lens are being sold.People know that the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 is like having a 18mm,19mm,20mm all the way up to 35mm prime lens all in one lens .And its sharper than the pentax 35mm 2.8 prime lens. Pentax is going to have to reduce the price of this lens. It makes no sense to pay this kind of money for one lens when you get better pictures from the Sigma lens and have 18 lens build into one lens that better and they are all f1.8 .

[Pentax K] Accustomed to using zoom lenses with the various Pentax DSLRs over the years, it was a healthy debate with myself about getting a 35mm limited lens. So happy I did - extremely pleased. Very well constructed, plus used with Pentax's K3 Mark iii, clarity and auto focus are precise with variable distances of focal points. Expect this lens to have an impressive service record. Kudos to B&H once again for their ordering, payment and delivery process. These good people really make the shopping experience a pleasant adventure.
