[Stereo ] For all of us who cannot spend the money on the Lecia, Pentax gives us a wonderful Monochrome digital camera. Based on the K3 chassis it is a Monochrome only Pentax K-3 Mark iii. It is an APS-C professional-level camera. With excellent ergonomics that Pentax is known for. Yes everyone is dashing off on mirrorless but the bright, eyeglass-friendly viewfinder is wonderful. With a nice catalog of lenses, this is a black-and-white camera that can be used in any situation. Finally black and white with excellent fine resolution, usable high ISO, and professional grade. The images have fine detail, highlights, and shadows. Easy-to-use menus and settings that address every situation you may encounter. For those who remember all those color filters for black and white are usable to manipulate the the images before tripping the shutter button. Two things to consider. LCD panel does not flip up or rotate. I use a Ref a right angle viewfinder by Pentax. It works well on all the 35mm Pentax cameras and some other brands. It rotates and has a 2x setting which is nice for macro. The other thing I have noticed is the very sensitive shutter button. It has a very sensitive and short motion to trip the shutter. I can highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants to do Monochrome. You will not be disappointed Monochrome is far from a niche place in photography. You see it in many venues. It is not limited now to the conversion of color digital or shooting film. We now have a well thought out Monochrome from Pentax at a more palatable price than Lecia. 5 |

[Aluminum] Purchased this item for my new Pentax K200D digital camera. I have two older Pentax cameras in which the filter size is different on them. I do have this particular filter for the older cameras. This is why I purchased it for the new one. I have purchased from B&H before and have always been satisfied... 5 |

[1,037,000 Dot] I have been using Pentax digital cameras for 5 years now. I have own and use a Pentax *ist DL, K-x, two K-200D's and now a K-7. I have enjoyed every Pentax camera I have, but the K-7 is truly an artist's camera. Removed of superfluous gimmicks, the K-7 is incredibly versatile and with configurable options and architecture for getting exactly the shot you want. The pictures, especially compared to Canon and Nikon are much sharper, are accepted and edited will in Aperture in RAW format and produce excellent prints and other digital media. The video is excellent and in many ways surpasses other DSLR video I have seen. As with many, it is less than idea in very low light, but does competitively well. The battery grip by Pentax is overpriced in my opinion but still a good option and makes the camera much more ergonomic for the grip. Consider a third party battery grip of good quality. Haven't found anything that is remotely a functional or performance deal breaker with this camera. Great quality build and body, great functionality and superior images. instantly my favorite camera to use. 5 |

[4.3 mm] Very well made, rugged, nice grip on handsome rubber, sharp & bright, light & compact with a nice balance. Compares very well to my Swarovski 10 x 42 SLC (Swarovski has a wider field of view and costs twice more but too expensive to carry it on any hike. Pentax's focus ring rotates much smoother). Compared the Pentax to Zeiss Conquest 10 x 42 and decided on Pentax. I like Pentax's carrying case but opening the of the velcro makes noise. 5 |

[Pentax K] This is exactly what I needed to use my 1.4 Pentax lens with my Sony. Now instead of shooting film I’m able to go digital. Shipped on time and I received it in no time. Thanks 5 |

[3] Absolutely love this piece of Cambo equipment... They've gone through this design from top to bottom and have created a platform that is essentially a genius solution to having the ultimate digital view camera for those of us who require such a technical approach to creating images. The build quality and precision are top notch - everything feels very well machined and well assembled. The multiple lens plates for lens manufactures such as Mamiya, Pentax, Hasselblad, Leica and their very own Actar series of lenses allows you to have many options when it comes to lenses. At first, this system can be confusing with what lenses will work with what body or digital back, but once you get familiar with their lens chart, it starts to make sense as to what can be used. The lens chart, listed below, gives all the data necessary to make informed decisions. I will say, with Pentax 645 glass, the latest HD DFA lenses are made specifically for Pentax's digital medium format bodies, which require a much smaller image circle than Pentax's 645 film format. So the A and FA Pentax lenses are a better option if you require shifting/rise/fall movements. All in all, I would highly recommend this system. If you need rear standard movements, Cambo has even more in depth models known as the Actus MV and Actus XL, which in my mind seems better suited for studio and product photography. Personally, I use this system for interior design and architectural photography and I must say: it's working better than any T/S lens - and I own and use some phenomenal T/S lenses, i.e., the 19mm, 24mm, 45mm and 85mm PC-e lenses from Nikon; these are outstanding lenses, but the Cambo allows me more freedom of movement, so this is why I made the switch from a pair Nikon D-850 bodies and said T/S lenses. Freedom!!!!! (of movement). Lens chart: https://www.cambousa.com/actus-lens-compatibility-chart 5 |

[-4 to +18 EV] The Pentax Monochrome, following Leica's lead into digital black and white photography, opens the doors for affordable, high quality rebirth of B&W images for hobbyists and professional photographers alike. As a young hobbyist I will never forget watching my first image emerge in the development pan in the dimly red light room. A second AHA moment was my first view of B&W negatives taken with my first Leica rangefinder camera and lens. I now have a third, and possibly most important event, that occurred when I reviewed my first images using the Pentax monochrome camera -- finely nuanced B&W pictures that virtually jumped off from the view screen. My first thought was that I had been shortsighted and tight-fisted by my initial response to the high price of the Leica Monochrome cameras. My second thought was that there now exists a clear, challenging future for hobbyists and professional photographers. The question most photographers now have to answer for themselves is how best to capture their images. There is a bright future awaiting B&W photography. The Pentax monochrome is an incredible photographic instrument at an unbelievably low price. Leica opened the door to 35mm photography and now has opened the door to digital B&W photography. The Pentax DSLR is the first to follow Leica and has done so with its SOA improvements to DSLR cameras. It will not take long for all the usual copycats to compete in this new and exciting dimension of photography. 5 |

[0.17 lb] While serving with the U.S. Air Force(1964-1968), a buddy turned me on to SLR photography so, I purchased a 35mm Asahi Pentax Spotmatic and started collecting various lenses. That camera took and still takes terrific pictures but, the digital photography revolution overtook me so, I advanced to purchasing a couple of good small point-and-shoot digital cameras. They took good photos and the photos could be adjusted with a good post-processing program but, those old Pentax lenses were still in their cases not doing what the were meant to do. THEN, an EPIPHANY!! I purchased a Nikon D3200 DSLR and found B&H which directed me to the lens converter mount I needed to resurrect my old Pentax lenses. All hail!! B&H. Great advice, great prices, and great service all around. My FotodioX adapters fit perfectly and appear to be of the highest quality. I can't yet comment about the quality of my final product(my photos) They are all in the process of post processing. I understand the limitations that these adapters have but, being an old manual photographer with the old Spotmatic, I don't have to make much of an adjustment. Now my old lenses can see the light day!!! 5 |
