[5.8 x 4 x 3.3"] The Korg Volca Drum is a super fun & creative percussion synthesizer. This Volca definitely is unique. It offers six parts each with layers of two individual sounds per part that can be edited separately or together. Programming is very immediate and the controls invite tweaking without having read the manual. However there are a few settings that aren't immediately intuitive which are accessed with the edit/step button and then scrolled through by the select/parameter knob. These potentially overlooked settings really do add to the sound giving bit reduction, wave folding, overdrive, panning, and gain adjustment. The three distortions here add a bit of grit to the sound and in my experience don't degrade the sound too much either, being mostly consistently useable at maximum settings. The motion record opens up the sound design potential quite a bit even if it is a shame that motion recording isn't available for the resonator parameters. I especially enjoy motion recording the rate of the LFO modifier. So many types of synthetic percussion can be made with this synth and, with choke groups, you can treat multiple sounds as a single instrument set. Programming on the Volca Drum is a joy. I plan on holding onto mine probably forever.

[Red] This drum cover works great. I was able to cover my drums, cymbals and all the percussion stuff I have clustered around the drum set. The lightly weighted corners let it just fall into place.

[0.335 lb] Fun in a little box! A real analog drum for a small price. The only thing missing is an audio input, so we chain others volca.

[7.775 lb] I have a whole box full of nady mic's they all treat me well. I use a 18 bass drum 99% of the time in the studio and my D6 is just to chubby sounding with it I was using an old sm57 which suddenly conked out. Got this one a whim as I have several nady 460's and like them a lot. I leave this kit mic'd up most of the time so need quite a few mic's In my tool box. Am very pleased sounds better than the sm57 in this app. Has a good slap and enough bottom without having to eq some out. Just add a gate and I have a great bass drum sound.
