[0.01 lb] Solid brass reduces sticking like aluminum and plastic versions. Works perfectly. Thanks Heliopan!

[0.015 lb] I never tried a brass step up ring , I tried some plastic cheap ones and they always get stuck and I end up breaking them to remove them , but this one is so amazing and feel solid and easy to remove from the filter I guess if I need a step up ring again , I know what to purchase! Totally worth the price!

[0.05 lb] There are not many heavy duty 52-77mm step rings out there, most are plastic or aluminum. This is brass and is seriously sturdy. You could probably use is as an improvised gardening trowel and it would be none the worse for wear. On the downside, it's heavier than any other step ring you've ever seen. I use it on a Fuji 240mm view camera lens. But by the time you pack everything needed for a view camera, the additional weight is not notable and you have a step ring that is not going to bind to a filter, short of catastrophic destruction. The other downside is that it's so good that it's remarkably expensive, but if you plan on using it for decades, it's not really that expensive. I have no doubt that it will outlast me! I have heard that brass transmits shock instead of deforming like aluminum or plastic. At the risk of cursing myself, I will say that in nearly 40 years of photography I've never dropped a lens. :-) But if you're the kind of person who drops lenses, well, you may want a bit more of an airbag. Personally, I think this unit is worth the bucks and I'm more concerned about a filter binding than I am about dropping a lens and in that regard, the Heliopan is a winner.

[Aluminum] This is a well designed and manufactured tripod foot. I was considering between Kirk and RRS and I went for Kirk because the knob design does not include a brass washer where it contacts the foot and happy with my choice. On the RSS LCF models, I find that the knob sometimes gets very tight and takes a lot of force to loosen and I blame the brass washer. CNC work is very good. Let's say it's at the same level as the best. Lever button which release the lock on the lens is well designed and locks with a satisfying click. You can't see it in the photo, but the button is shaped to stay flush with the foot profile, so you cannot see the button sticking out from the side. The only reservation I had was the plastic logo that sticks onto the foot. I would have preferred a laser engraved logo. My experience with these plastic logo is that it yellows out after years of use and may even drop out. But after mounting it on the lens, I don't notice it anymore.

[Steel] This stand is solid and holds my Eb tuba perfectly. It is study and adjusts easily. It folds up fast so I can use it as I move from concert to concert.

[5.5 x 5 x 0.3"] PolarPro Brass Step-up Rings are some of the best step-up rings made. Being fabricated of brass makes it much easier to change the ring when necessary, much easier than aluminum. Great product!
