[Side Address] This mic is impressive. I purchased this with a Polsen usb audio interface and spent today doing some experimentation with it. I started a vocal recording using my Amazon Echo as a source and basically did a cover of a favorite song. When I went to do the playback, I was completely blown away by the amount of secondary rejection this mic is capable of. The Amazon Echo was actually fairly loud, but it wasn't present in the final recording (there is some of it in the final output, but it is so much attenuated, you'd have to find a silent passage to hear it). If you are doing vocals without using headphones, this is a great choice. The tone and response of the microphone are great - I could not tell this wasn't a much more expensive piece of gear. I also tested handling noise and the shock mount is very effective at dampening coupled noises. The only negative I can give here is that the desktop stand is not that great. I spent yesterday in the shop making a new desktpp stand that doesn't tip over if you look at it funny. The stand it comes with is poorly balanced, so that will be your first upgrade.

[1.8 lb] I bought this mic for two reasons...1) field recording from boom pole, and 2) studio ADR recording. Not only does it do both extremely well, it also can be used as an alternative to that other shotgun mic they use out in L.A. for movie trailer announcers! Cuts through a mix when getting super close proximity, which isn't what it was designed for but, hey, it works.

[Hypercardioid] I am using this mic for a home recording studio, for live trumpet. The sound is great, and the mic isolates well from the rest of the room and can handle the directional decibels of the instrument. Solid construction and super sound.

[Articulated] I use this studio arm to make recording of my voice - for my YouTube videos easier. I did have to pull the cable out a little further near the end - where the mic plugs in. In order to allow the best configuration of the mic (with an isolation mount attached) without crimping the cable end - near the connector. One little note is that if you use the extension arm, make sure to have the retaining screw at the base of the mount out as much as possible - also make sure that the arm is all the way in. It might be a little difficult to know when it's all the way in, just push it in until you know for certain that it is fully inserted into the mount. (When I first set up the studio arm - while using the extension arm. I thought it was all the way in, and it wasn't - which could have caused the studio arm to fall, which would have messed up my computer)

[Steel, Aluminum] I was looking to start my own home recording studio for local bands and through a lot of research, I found this neat little device. It allows for very clear and warm audio recording. I use it for recording vocals, acoustic guitars, grand piano, etc. In all of these instances, this device performs extremely well. The expander and compressor are both very nice features to have. My setup also includes the Focusrite Saffire PRO 40,Rode NT1-A mic, and Sure SM57 mic and I am able to get recordings at a very high level of quality; Almost no hissing in the recording which is very important to me. I will definitely be buying more of this product soon to add more channels.

[0.9 lb] We use this mic in two venues on our church campus. One is in our Audio/Video recording studio when we are recording live sounding videos for YouTube or Facebook. The other is as overheads for our cymbals within our drum booth. In both application they perform exceptionally.
