[3/8"-16 Male] This mic stand is well-built, solid, heavy, and great all around. One of the reasons why I chose this product over others was because the telescoping arm extends to 46, which is longer than anything else I looked at. I recommend this product overall. I use this mic stand at home to either hold a Rode boom mic or to attach a smartphone for overhead filming. The long reach of the boom arm offers me a lot of flexibility with the latter. If you are thinking of using this stand for overhead filming with something heavier than a smartphone, note that I don't think the boom arm would hold up a heavy DSRL very well, but a small, light mirror-less camera would likely be OK (though you would likely see bowing of the arm if you have the boom arm fully extended).

[45 x 4.5 x 4.1"] I installed this boom in a small video studio to hang mikes overhead of a news desk holding a pair of mics in stereo configuration. A music mic. boom stand was fully extended and was sagging badly barely able to do what this heavy duty stand does with handsome ease. It can be walked under, and moved and turned without tipping. It's just the thing for my purpose Lorton Post-lite Weekly.

[Black] I bought this stand to mic drums overhead and also to record spoken word with a mic on a boom. It works great for both of those purposes, and I'm very happy with it.

[6.6' / 2 m] This fold up boom is fantastic!!! I can be used as a regular stand but best of all it does great overhead/butterfly shots. I carry it in the car to always have.

[1 x C-Stand] Great C stand. I got an extra grip head as well. Can really boom lights up and overhead. Also got the boom pole holder. Great for interviews and such. All around essential piece of filmmaking gear. I need another one or two for sure.

[5/8" Stud] The stand is actually light yet sturdy. The castors are great quality. I have main camera plus overhead camera on this using a boom from one of my c stands. Highly recommend.

[360°] I use this stand (one of five) for overhead miking various orchestral instruments and sections. It is tall enough, with the boom extended, to cover the high winds and strings in a band/orchestra, to supplement a center stereo pair and give better balance with the back row brass and winds. It is skinny enough to be unobtrusive placed in the middle of an orchestra or band. I found a suitable swivel at B&H to hang a stereo bar from a horizontal boom. A boom helps keep the microphones out of the way for video. If you don't need a 9' reach, the 40 reach of this stand might do the trick.

[48 V] I really like the stand. It folds to be very compact. It has some weight to it so you don't worry putting a handheld on it stretched out that it might fall over. The boom arm is a single piece so I think that is the only functional downside. But it's $30 cheaper than the other option from K&M. I appreciate the discount for what I feel is a very small sacrifice. I did order 3 of them and 1 of them seems to have been cross threaded from the factory where the main shaft and boom arm screw together. It still feels very sturdy and the lock ring seems to grip well so I'm not bothering with an RMA.

[White] I'm going to use it both on my monolights and on a boom overhead with an LED video light.

[Screw-Knob] I have used this combination boom and stand in the studio for more years than I can remember. It's like a Neumann microphone...it's not a studio without one. Tuff, smooth and easy to use. Nothing bad to say about it.
