[18.9°] I own the predecessor of this lens (the Samyang/Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 Manual Focus). It is one of my favorite lenses and a classic in astrophotography circles. So I had to ask myself whether I should shell out twice as much for its successor, the Samyang/Rokinon 135mm f/1.8 Auto Focus. After reading various reviews I took the plunge. Checking it out, I was glad to find several improvements which justified the investment: 1) The new lens is much lighter, and it has autofocus. That allowed me to quickly grab it for shooting scenes in my backyard when the lighting happened to be perfect. It was also easy to take it along on my walks. 2) Color fringing has become undetectable, thanks to 2 additional low dispersion elements. 3) Likewise, vignetting has been reduced further by enlarging the front element, making life easier in astrophotography. For the night sky I found a reduction of the falloff from 36% at f/2.0 to 20% at f/1.8 in Capture One (using raw files on full frame with the setting Generic). This lens just became available, and it still has some minor quirks. As reported on the web, it sometimes discharges the battery over time when simply turning the camera off after use. I noticed the effect on both the A7III and the a6300. This problem appears to have been solved by firmware version 2. Since I did not want to buy the lens station required for the upgrade, I used a fix that worked for a similar problem with a lens adapter: After turning the camera off, remove the lens and put it back on. (It is actually sufficient to rotate the lens outward until it stops, and then back inward.) Another concern was the stress on the tripod mount of my small a6300 APS-C camera. That was resolved by a tripod adapter for the similar-sized Sony 135mm f/1.8 FE lens (iShoot Model S135FE, with electrical tape added for cushioning). Notice that this combination produces the field of view and brightness of a full frame camera with a monster 200mm f/1.8 lens.

[8, Rounded] This is the third Rokinon UMC lens I own for astrophotography having already purchased the 24mm f1.4 and the 135mm f2 from B&H. Although I cant comment on how they perform for street, landscape or portrait photography, they make excellent lenses for astro work at a friendly price tag. Users used to auto focus will be disappointed as these lenses do not offer AF, but their corner to corner sharpness along with very low coma make them almost perfect on unforgiving star images. Stop them down at least one stop and they really shine as is typical of any lens with this wide an aperture. B&H has always excelled as my go to source for everything photographic.

[18.8°] The Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens is a fantastic lens. It's sharp, fast, comes with a hood which not only keeps out stray light, but keeps dew off my lens during nighttime shooting. Although it's manual focus only, I use it for astrophotography so that works perfectly for me. Images are excellent all the way to the edges. A focus ring lock would be a great thing to have, but tape works too! All-around a great addition to my toolbox.

[135mm] For the price, this is one of my favorite lenses by Rokinon, next to the 50mm Cine DS. With the short focusing distance + an extension tube, this is my new macro lens. Get a high enough resolution camera (in this case 6K Scarlet Dragon), you can zoom in even further in post. I'm not sure what it is, but the DS line does have a slightly better snap to it than the non-DS lenses, which is why I think I like my 50 and 135mm so much more than some of the other lenses I have. For half the price of a Canon 135mm lens, this lens is well worth the money!

[0.255 lb] A perfect companion for use with the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, Z 85m f/1.2 S, or Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena lenses (and others, but these I own). There is no discernable vignetting when in use on any of the above. I find this Nikon CPF to be slightly darker than some of its competitors, but that makes a good complement under certain situations.

[0.61 lb] This is my third case of this series for various lenses for Sony FF, and I can't imagine not storing such expensive glass in anything less. Worth every penny. Sturdy, sturdy, sturdy. Padding is super thick and cushion-y. Got the 6x4.5 for the Samyang 135mm 1.8 thinking it would be a bit roomy, but the Sam-135/1.8 lens fits PERFECTLY in this case, with just a bit of wiggle room but no slop. I can even choose to stow the lens in that nice, quilted bag that Samyang sends with the 135mm, and the lens (in its quilted bag) also fits in this case perfectly.

[f/1.4] I told myself I would never by another lens for I have many to go with my Nikon 810, the 135mm 2.0, 85mm 1.8, 35mm 1.8, 20-70mm 2.8 an the 70-300m 2.8. when I saw this 50mm 1.4 for only $169, I said why not. I wasnt expecting much from it. Guys this lens is definitely one of the best lenses ever!!! The auto focus is fast and the picture is beautiful not soft at 1.4! bokah is great also. Lens is well built metal not plastic!

[Autofocus] The Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG (Nikon F mount) is the sharpest lens I have owned - no focus problems, great build, nice colors
