[Yes] I bought this to use with a 1DxMkII and 600mm f4.� I was looking for a smoother solution than my Wimberly II Gimbal for moving aircraft and birds in flight, while using extremely-slow shutter speeds...like 1/25 and 1/15. I figured a video head would do the trick. Not knowing anything about them (I'm a studio photographer), I tried a bunch in the entry-level arena...none of them were 100% successful.� I had slight jerkiness, inconsistent drag, backlash, grinding and vibration on anything under $500. (the Benro S8, was the best of what I tried...but still a bit lacking). After a fair amount of research, I decided on the BV10H (by the way, money or brand was not really an issue. I was thinking around $2.5k max, if a head had what I needed). One of my deal-breakers was having a 3/8" side accessory mount. Being able to run video along side a big lens shooting stills is one of my goals.� So, I went with the BV10H. I gotta say, it's built like a tank, and is VERY, very smooth. I don't impress easily, but I'm truly impressed, especially for the price. I was reluctant, because the levels of drag were so few...but as it ends up, they're all that's needed. Even my camcorder with its 250x digital zoom is remarkably smooth. The lockup on the bowl is amazingly quick as well the grip is rubberized, so tightening is a snap (a few others I tried needed a tool to clamp down, with all that weight). The 3/8" side socket should be standard on any tripod head. Everything is simple, out of the box operation. Attach and level your camera...and you're loaded for bear.� I would recommend this product 100% What are the CONS? Wish it had a light on the bubble level (like on the S8). This was fixed with a�FrogLeggs tiny LED (about the size of a button) positioned just above the bubble. Other than that...the BV10H is good to go.
