Samsung Light Bulb Projector

[1920 x 1080] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the 20,000 hour lifespan of the lasers was a big selling point for me having had to deal with expensive bulb replacements and shattered glass in the past, this was a welcome change. The fans that cool the projector's internal components are quiet (26db), and the heat is a tiny fraction of what I’ve experienced with traditional bulb projectors. There is something so magical about being able to instantly summon a 120" display with sound, mere inches from a wall, it is an experience in and of itself. The main feature of this UST is the 3-channel laser tech that allows each primary (RGB) color to have its own light source, this gives a more visually striking image than a device with a single light source (RGB color wheels), even with sunlight. That technology helps to produce a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 3,700 ANSI lumens, a picture that packs a punch. webOS is fast and feature packed! Screen mirroring features are also included and work like a dream, connecting with your compatible smartphone is super easy, there are also options to mirror your pc or mac. HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping alters the brightness in each frame, and Brightness Optimizer II adjusts the projector's settings based on the environment, it takes the guesswork out of calibrating the optimal image for any given environment. The sound is really good for being on-board, I was actually impressed. Better than any TV I’ve heard, there is adequate bass and clear sound. A lot of thoughtful design went into this unit and you can tell, all of these features make this projector worth it, it’s an all-rounder with the power to be a daily driver in a living room or a dedicated home theater setup.

[Yes] I bought this laser projector to replace my standard bulb projector. I needed something that would cut through the ambient light and not have washed out images or videos. This is bright and crisp and does exactly what I had hoped it would do. Plus it was easy to install and set up.

[225 W] Bought this for my BenQ HT1085st back in 2016, when the original lamp that came with the projector literally popped after only 1500 hours.  Having never owned a projector before, I thought that was the norm and that Id be having to pay $250 every year for a new bulb. Im glad that was not the case.  This replacement bulb is now at 5,900+ hours, and although it hasnt shown any signs of slowing down, Im about to buy another bulb just to be ready. You will not regret buying this official BenQ OEM bulb to replace yours.
