Samsung Optical Drive Laptop

[0.15 lb] Dropped this in the Optical Bay of a 2009 MacBookPro (along with a new battery) to breath a little more life in to a slow old laptop. This was a dream for the old machine!! Dropped it in the Optical Bay since that was no longer needed. Left the original 500GB in and use it as a second/storage drive. System now runs off this SSD and compared to what it used to be, absolutely screams in speed compared to the old hard drive. Was as quick fast install and works like a charm, definitely gave this 2009 laptop another 2-3 years of life as a basic internet/email/documents machine.

[0.875 lb] Easily fits my old laptop, which is thicker that most because it's old enough to have an optical drive. On the side it fits the charging cable and my mouse. Now my laptop is protected along with my other equipment. I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

[0.09 lb] My laptop had a 2TB Samsung EVO 970 plus system drive and I bought this WD black to put in a USB enclosure. But before I did, I ran Crystal Disk Mark on the Samsung, cloned the system to this drive and ran it again on this drive. My laptop is only PCI 3 so I wasn't expecting the stated performance, and no surprise it didn't make those numbers. But it did perform a little better than the Samsung and ran a bit cooler also. So I kept this WD black as the system drive and wiped the Samsung and put that one in the USB enclosure. Now it's a few weeks later and so far so good.

[ATX] I am new to building PC with aftermarket cooler. Needed a wider case for DeepCool AK 620 which fit just fine. Case is very nice and allows more flexibility than I'm used to for cable routing and storage mounting options. Also mounted an optical drive at bottom front. When I put the magnetic cover over the optical drive it hits the button to open the tray. Not a big deal to me. Had a question about plugging 3 pin case fans into 4 pin connectors on motherboard but Fractal never responded to my ticket. Figured it out on YouTube. Would buy again.

[ Included] Had to convert optical output from new TV to analogue to drive two Sennheiser headphones. Works perfectly.

[12.67 lb] I needed a case that would support an optical drive that wasn't pre 2006 and this case was perfect. It has snug feeling hdd trays and a nice functional glass side panel. The cable management was more than adequate and since I haven't built a pc in over a decade I found the improvements abound. I know this is a budget case but it doesn't need to be. The front panel is the only thing that looks dated on it and it's mostly because of the optical drive... Which was my only real requirement of the case. Good value for money.
