[15.5 W] I bought this card about six months ago to the SATA SSD in a Dell Precision 5810 workstation using a 1 terabyte Samsung 970 Evo Plus as the boot drive. It was easy to setup and the performance has been great. I work in technology for a living and have been buying parts like this from StarTech for 10 plus years and I've never been disappointed with their products or their support. If I were, I have no doubt they would take care of it. Before you install any kind of PCI Express card to use an NVMe SSD as a boot drive, do the research to make sure your systems supports it. Otherwise, that's on you for not "reading the directions". 5 |

[1x 2.5"/3.5" ] I have a previous model (smart backup), really like the option to swap out any SATA drive/SSD, regardless of capacity or size (2.5 and 3.5 are supported). It seems to work with any system (2010 macpro and Windows 8 machines). No issues so far. I use it nearly every day and it hasn't skipped a beat! 5 |

[2.2 W (Active)] This drive is the penultimate SATA SSD. Huge, reliable, and fast enough for us mortals. Sorry to see that it is no longer available. I put one in all my go laptops so I'd never run out of room. Of course, the drive is worth more than any of those laptops, but when those laptops die, I expect I'll keep the 860 Pro drives for other projects since its TBW rating is twice that of any other I've seen. 5 |
