Seagate Expansion Desktop 16Tb External Hard Drive Hdd

[LTO-8] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 12TB Seagate Expansion for PC is awesome! I have a gaming PC that’s been pretty slow lately, so I’ve been needing to free up space. The Seagate Expansion is an extremely spacious external hard drive that is super easy to set up. I set the expansion up as my default backup device, so now I don’t have to worry about losing my files. I’m also using it to remove and store files from my computer so that I have more space for games. I was surprised when I initially removed the drive from the box because it’s much smaller than I anticipated, which was nice. It also came with a variety of plugs that work with international outlets, so I could bring this drive with me whenever I travel abroad. Overall, I’m very pleased with this external drive.

[Plastic] I have been working with this Seagate external hard drive for a couple of weeks now, and it has been performing well. I have several other Seagate external hard drives that have really performed well over many years, and I expect this drive to be just as reliable. I am a satisfied, repeat customer!

[0.275 lb] I bought the Seagate 2tb plus slim external hard drive and this case fit it perfectly. Also, it has a little pouch to keeps my usb wire. Its small enough so that I don’t have to carry around anything bulky with me but big enough to fit some other accessories I might need when I carry around my external hard drive. I love the color and it fits of course in my bag without taking up much room and also fits in the inside of my jacket. I really like how quickly it was delivered and packaged safely. All around a great buy. Recommend it to anyone needed to protect their hard drive.

[60 W] With this cord my older external hard drive now works on my iMac desktop 27".

[Aluminum] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Seagate expansion was the perfect addition to my desktop setup. It has a very sleek design that anybody could appreciate, and now I have loads of storage. This is perfect for anyone with a job that requires a lot of downloads, movie buffs, or gamers! I feel like it's quite durable as well, so I feel safe having my files backed up to this drive.

[50 G / 2.0 ms] I selected this drive as the 16TB seemed less reliable in tests and is barely cheaper. Moreover, I wanted the ability to replace on failure. That is where the 5 year warranty comes in. Some third party vendors resell OEM drives that lack this warranty or US origin sales. My experience is that of they fail it is the first 3 months. Once you pass that hurdle, you are typically fine. Please ensure you back up your files. One word of caution, duplicating a smaller drive and enlarging the image size may bump you into partition size limitations in Windows, resulting in unused disk space. That is fixible with third party software, but cumbersome and introduces the risk of data corruption. Instead format this disk and copy the content. I have multiple brands of harddisk drives, but have been moving back to Seagate as a result of publishred rialibility results. So far 62TB of Seagate storage without problems.

[1 x 650 W] This OWC 16TB ThunderBlade RAID drive replaced a 24TB Promise Pegasus RAID and I'm never going back to HDD drives. The Promise could be heard from the other rooms in the house, while the ThunderBlade is completely silent, even when working right next to it on the desk. It's also a LOT smaller. I suggest removing the OWC soft raid software which has caused issues for us in the past. We have the drive formatted as RAID 0 directly in Sonoma 14.3 running on our Mac Studio M1 Ultra. SSDs are a lot more reliable than HDD so I'm more comfortable running these in RAID 0 vs another RAID. However, SSD is not a replacement for a backup, and I have this drive being backed up onto my old HDD once a month.

[14 TB] These have a much lower noise/sound level then my previous HDD's, Seagate 7200 Desktop drives. They are running in RAID-0 as 16TB photo/video storage. In a RAID-0 configuration their Data speed is 315MB's+ Read-n-Write. Good price for what they deliver!
