Security System Surveillance Cameras

[550 TB] Got this for a surveillance system and WD Purples never let me down!

[1.205 lb] Initially I set up my security system of two cameras and the DVR on a single 12v 3A power adapter with a splitter cable. Everything worked but there were squigglies in the brightest areas of one camera feed. I added this power adapter to drive just that (4k) camera and the squigglies disappeared. The 4k image is now clean and astounding.

[NAS] This is one of two cameras I purchased for a simple security system for my home. Hik-Vision products were recommended to me by friends with experience in real-world security. Purchasing the system from B&H was a breeze, given the level of expert advice I received from their customer service reps. This camera covers our front driveway and approach to our front door. Installation was easy after watching videos on the Hik-Vision website and You-tube. I mounted it to a 1/2 thick Starboard disk I made, to cushion the camera from my stucco eaves. It provides outstanding picture quality day and night. I appreciate the color images at night. I have not yet figured out the use of the built-in speaker/mic, nor all the parameters for receiving notifications of moving objects.

[0.45 lb] This was my first purchase of a Ubiquity device so I was a little unsure of adopting this new system but it was nearly as easy as just plugging it in. I got this for security cameras but now that it has also replaced our old home network router I'm glad to discover faster internet speeds.

[Aluminum] This was one of two cameras I purchased recently for a security system I installed on my home. It covers a side of my house where a boat and camper are stored. Installation was straightforward, mounted under the eaves of my roof, although it took me a minute to interpret the Ikea-like instructions for removing the cover when adjusting and installing. His-Vision had a digital video on their website that was helpful with that. Daytime picture quality is terrific. Nighttime is good, although this type of camera uses infrared, so the image is black and white. I have not fully mastered setting parameters for notifications, thanks to ADHD. Someday . . .

[255] The Synology Surveillance Station software is the best security camera software we have used, having tried two before this. It is more costly having to buy licenses for each camera you want to use but at least the licenses are transferrable between hardware upgrades and not bound to a specific camera's MAC Address or hardware. The software is very smooth and easy to use with advanced feature available if needed. It has otherwise been very plug-n-play switching over.
