[0.39 lb] I have only taken this out once but the results so far have been beautiful. In context, I've owned the Canon 85mm 1.2 and the Canon 85mm 1.4 back in my dslr days and the Sigma DG DN 85mm 1.4 lens most recently. I shoot a lot of on location portraits and found the 85mm to be too tight on many of the locations I shoot. With that, I reluctantly traded in the Sigma on the Sony 50mm 1.2 lens. I didn't have the funds to keep both. (The Sigma is an amazing lens btw). After shooting the Sony 50mm (another great lens) I found I really missed the compression of the 85mm focal length when I did have the room, so I started looking around for a sleeper and I found it! Im still recovering from the price tag of the Sony 50mm so I was looking for something cheaper than the Sigma to have on hand for those occasions I wanted an 85mm. This Tokina fits the bill perfectly. It is a simple, no bells and whistles piece of glass that takes images comparable to any of the best lenses Ive used. The difference between 1.8 and 1.4 is negligible at best and this is built like a tank with its metal construction. I got it on sale for $399 and is a steal at this price. After shooting this I couldn't justify spending the money on the Sigma again which was one of my all time favorites. It is a very basic lens but the images are awesome even when shot wide open at 1.8. 5 |

[47°] I had a choice between this and the new Sigma 50mm 1.2 DG DN. I chose this GM instead and I’m happy with it. I’m using it on a A7RV & A7IV with stellar results. Sharpness is off the charts and rendering is sublime. I could not justify the 50mm 1.2 GM’s price tag so this was the best choice. I love my GM glass! I own the GM 14 1.8, 24mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, & 135mm 1.8 5 |

[Neoprene] I had the Sigma 50mm EF lens so the first RF lens I purchased was the 28-70 2.0 RF zoom. That zoom was so good I didn't feel I needed the RF 50mm. The second lens I purchased was the 85mm 1.2 RF which is a beast of a lens. There were a few purchases along the way and I finally decided to go ahead and get the 50mm 1.2 RF. WOW, this is the one that says on my camera unless I need one of the other specialties. It's funny how some think it's a large lens but isn't for me as I lived with the two other beasts and this is a light weight. Quality image and fast focus. 5 |

[Canon RF] I bought several 7 Artisan lenses - this fits the Lumix G95 far better than the 50mm F.095 for infinity / distance shooting. It is remarkably good glass, solid build and light weight. It is certainly sharp at slightly before F2 and onward. I have found it to be a very useful bit of Kit. The two photos show full frame and then a crop of the Moon - at F 8 - 10. It also has very good color rendition. At the price point it is an incredible buy. 5 |

[43 mm (Front)] I use this on a GH5 and I'm impressed. Sharpness at f.95 looks very good, especially center of frame. I was using the Canon 1.8 STM 50mm with a Viltrox EF-M2 lens adapter, which allowed me to stop down to f1.3, but the image I was getting was fairly soft. Bought this to replace it, albeit a bit wider than the 50mm (1.6x crop w/ Viltrox) but the image looks much sharper. Was also impressed with the build quality. It's a compact lens but it has some weight to it. Feels very sturdy and aperture and focus rings turn smoothly with clickless aperture. All and all, I would definitely recommend for someone that may be a little skeptical because of the price. Oh yeah, the little case it ships in is a nice touch, too. 5 |

[58 mm (Front)] Youd think for the price this would have some flaws. At f.1/4 its pretty sharp at f.2 its razor sharp. I did not look at the outer edges of the frames as Im concerned with my subject. Good buy for the price. 5 |

[Manual Focus] Having owned the GREAT Sigma 85mm art lens and the FANTASTIC Tamron 85mm 1.8, I can say without reservation, THIS LENS IS AMAZING!!! This lens is as sharp at 1.2, as the Tamron at 1.8!! That is INSANE considering the Tamron is fantastically sharp at 1.8... Wow... The Sigma is sharper yes, but it doesnt go down to 1.2! Ill sacrifice the MARGINAL sharpness for the better aperture, boken rendering (OMG!!), and overall different artistic look this lens provides... Oh yeah, its manual focus.... But Im adapting to Sony so........Lol 5 |

[62 mm (Front)] I have both the Rokinon 35mm f/1.2 and the 50mm f/1.2 for my Canon M5. Both lenses are rockstars. While they require manual adjustment of the aperture and focus, I actually appreciate that level of engagement when shooting with prime lenses. This lens is usably sharp at f/1.2, much more so than the Canon 50mm f/1.2 (roughly the same focal length when mounted on their respective native cameras). The richness of the colors and contrast is on par with the EF-M 22mm, which is good. This lens also gets top marks for bokeh and build quality. If you're looking to add fast primes to your M kit and know how to shoot on manual with manual focus, this lens will deliver. 5 |

[52 mm (Front)] I’ve owned many Voigtländer lenses: the 40mm f/1.2, the 50mm f/1.2, and the 65mm APO. All of those left me for one reason or another. The 1.2s were so soft wide open and showed horrible chromatic aberration, and while the 65mm was as optically perfect as a lens could be, it was just too massive to be carried around casually. This 50mm f/2 APO-Lanthar is simply perfect for me. The lens has amazing contrast and color renditioning (on par to the 65mm), shows no chromatic aberration (unlike the f/1.2s), and it is comically compact. I find this to be the perfect lens when you just want to bring your camera along with nothing specific in mind to shoot. It makes mundane scenes seem interesting and adds so much life to to planned shots. The manual focus makes nailing a shot so much more satisfying, and Sony’s ease of use in regards to MF lenses makes for a quick learning curve. I absolutely could not recommend this lens more. 5 |
