[Stills & Video] I am coming from the Sony A7RIII and been with Sony for the last 10 years and switch to the S1R this April and have not looked back. The user experience and the output I get from the S1R is just superb. When I had the A7RIII the Sony/Zeiss 50mm F1.4 ZA stayed glued to my camera. So when I switched over to the S1R I needed a 50mm so naturally I picked up the Panasonic 50mm and boy I am happy I did. The color, sharpness, rendering (it has a Leica rendering to it) the micro-contrast, bokeh and the handling is just aswome. And the manual clutch is simply a nice touch. The CA is non-existing, that was the problem I had with the Sony/Zeiss 50mm; it didn't perform good wide open. (please don't get me wrong, the Zeiss/Sony 50mm is an underrated good lens, but not a good as the Panasonic 50mm F1.4 Pro) FYI: I originally brought this lens new for $2300, but I returned it because it had a cosmetic imperfection, but a used one became available for $1950, mint condition, so I got that one instead. (I am equally happy) Is it worth it? To me, yes, but to others it may not. The Sigma Art 50 will be plenty good for most people when the native version becomes available. I got the Panasonic because I wasn't certain if the Sigma would be good enough to resolve the 47.3 MB from the S1R, I am not certain if the native sigma AF will work as good as the native Panasonic (it should because they have the L-Mount protocols) and I couldn't wait. If you are on the fence on getting this lens or the Sigma, I would say just rent both to see what works best for you. I hope this post helps someone. Thank you for reading

[0.39 lb] I have only taken this out once but the results so far have been beautiful. In context, I've owned the Canon 85mm 1.2 and the Canon 85mm 1.4 back in my dslr days and the Sigma DG DN 85mm 1.4 lens most recently. I shoot a lot of on location portraits and found the 85mm to be too tight on many of the locations I shoot. With that, I reluctantly traded in the Sigma on the Sony 50mm 1.2 lens. I didn't have the funds to keep both. (The Sigma is an amazing lens btw). After shooting the Sony 50mm (another great lens) I found I really missed the compression of the 85mm focal length when I did have the room, so I started looking around for a sleeper and I found it! Im still recovering from the price tag of the Sony 50mm so I was looking for something cheaper than the Sigma to have on hand for those occasions I wanted an 85mm. This Tokina fits the bill perfectly. It is a simple, no bells and whistles piece of glass that takes images comparable to any of the best lenses Ive used. The difference between 1.8 and 1.4 is negligible at best and this is built like a tank with its metal construction. I got it on sale for $399 and is a steal at this price. After shooting this I couldn't justify spending the money on the Sigma again which was one of my all time favorites. It is a very basic lens but the images are awesome even when shot wide open at 1.8.

[Black] Once I got it working on my Crane 3 it’s awesome. I can swap my sigma 16mm, Sony 24mm and Sony 50mm which is a huge help when I’m shooting weddings and don’t have time to rebalance my rig. I was skeptical that it would balance all three axes but it totally works.

[5.3 oz (150 g)] Sigma's MC-11 turns my beloved 50MM 1.4 Art lens on a Sony A7S into a fully functional Sony lens to take advantage of ALL the great Sony automation and focusing features - ESPECIALLY AUTOFOCUS This is a Genius product. CANON needs to do the same so their fabulous lenses can be used on Sony bodies as well as Canon. Worth every penny

[APS-C] I paired this Sigma 18-50mm Lens with my new Sony a6700 camera. I was able to take close up and medium photos perfectly. This worked great for city landscapes and ancient ruins in Greece. I would have liked for a little more range, but I guess a zoom lens will be needed for that. I could not take great photos of far away objects like mountain tops.

[0.705 lb] This lens adapter works really well with my Sony A7IV and Sigma 50mm DG HSM lens. Focusing usability is fast and accurate.

[Autofocus] waited and waited for canon to come up with something better than their current 50mm 1.4 and a lot less than the 50mm 1.2 i love my canon stuff but they missed the train on this one....sigma, who i never ever gave a second thought to, just blew the doors off of this lens...it's what everyone is saying...everything is 5 star, except no weather sealing...not a big deal for me..color rendition, sharpness, quick focus, solid build and the list goes on...great bokeh and although a little weighty on my 5dmk11, i find it comparable to one of my zooms and hence, it feels normal...great looking and the finish is flawless...and here's a few bonuses, you get a nicely formed padded bag, with zipper, and a bayonet lens hood to boot...with canon, you get a cheap flannel bag to put your expensive lens in and no lens hood...canon, i love your products...please take note of how it should be done....sigma is building a reputation that will have people talking...

[77 mm] I purchased this along with a used Sigma 50mm. It's a good filter for UV and lens protection.
