[1500] This softbox was included with my Siros light kit. It is made well. The best thing regarding this softbox is how easy and quick it is to set up. No having to flex the rods or risk overstretching the panels or tearing the seams, snap tabs like select other brands of modifiers. I also like the optional light grid not offered with other softboxes.

[Black] When looking for a softbox, Chimera is the industry standard, and there's a reason for that, it is manufactured with quality, versatility, and consideration of the photographer/filmmaker who wishes to use it. To begin, the retro design of the Triolet fixture houses the mogul bulbs securely, and the included adapter for other bulbs makes the lamp-base highly versatile. The speedring is unmatched, with screws to secure the bank rods, and rotatable and locking holders to make installation extremely easy. Then there's the softbox itself, which is manufactured to withstand temperatures of lamps up to 1k, and plenty of velcro to attach to any of the diffusers or eggcrates. Speaking of the diffusers, the included ones create an intensely soft light, and the egg-crate does a superb job of controlling the direction of the light. To top it off, this kit includes a heavy-duty stand and bags that make transportation extremely easy. The bags are crafted with extremely fine material, and when you see the Chimera logo stating its 'perfect lighting' you understand that they are not exaggerating. Bottom line: There are many ways to achieve a soft light, but if you want a kit that includes everything necessary to make a highly controllable and customizable soft light, this kit is the perfect fit.

[>.97] This is an excellent video light kit that works even better if you replace the included Compact Fluorescent bulbs with LED versions which are now available relatively cheap up to about 100 w equivalent. They are far cooler, take up less space, and use much less power. In addition you can mix daylight bulbs with warm ones. Sadly, it is not that good a substitute for strobe flash lights for still photography because, contrary to what your eyes tell you, you will need to crank the ISO way up to get proper exposure. It just reinforces the notion that those incredibly short strobe flashes deliver an incredible amount of light. Unlike a camera's sensor, our visual system does not consider an extremely bright flash to a long duration bright of lower intensity as having equal power. I've got 4 of these and I still need to up my ISO to 800 or above. The socket, softbox and lightstand are all well made and should work fine installed in a studio. Can't comment on how well it would work if used as a portable unit. Some people report problems getting the softbox part set up, but I haven't had any problems. After installing the first metal rod, I always install the next one on the opposite side. The last couple will require that you bend the rod in order to reach the socket. Overall the lighting kit is a terrific value.

[Via DMX] I tested the softbox kit thoroughly - with my own third light fixtures.  The light kit works well for my modest needs. There are 2 switches to make 3 lighting configurations - a good idea!   Sure, it takes a lot of time assemble and then disassemble light fixtures as I dont have enough room for keeping them assembled, but thats a part of the deal. Two bulbs arrived broken but the issue was resolved quickly and gracefully with one phone call. This was my only phone call to B&H in some 30 years of relationship.  Thank you guys!

[Yes] I got this softbox as part of a monolight kit and I LOVE it. I've only just begun exploring studio light and really like the way you can control light with the softbox. Dimensions are great for a small studio setup and seems to be very good quality. The speed ring took a little figuring out (I just googled speed ring impact and found enough instruction to get it set up), but once you have it together, it's well worth it.

[55 lb] I love the construction and output of this pro light kit. The softbox was a bit tricky to figure out, but I found a YouTube video that helped. The wheeled carry case is well constructed.
