Softbox Or Umbrella

[Black] Very good umbrella, much easier to take two locations versus a softbox

[0.35 lb] combines the soft light of a softbox with the portability of an umbrella. I like the nice diffused light and portability.

[0.18 lb] Is the best accesory for deep umbrella EL. Like a great softbox the light.

[0.5-Stop ] Well made and easy to install. Turns my umbrella into a softbox giving me another lighting option to use.

[Hook & Loop] I bought this because I saw the possible utility for a smaller softbox on the on the Strobist blog. It is wonderful for portraits as it does an excellent job of diffusing the light, but isn't as dramatic as an umbrella. I love how small it is, folds down neatly into a pocket on my camera bag and goes with me everywhere (something that isn't true of my umbrella). I have nothing negative to add.

[0.35 lb] This umbrella-style softbox is really nice for the price. It worked well for the flash portraits I wanted to do. Seems to be sturdy and well built. Would buy it again.

[Yes] In love with my Fotodiox umbrella Type softbox. Fast and easy to setup, I bought a 36 Octobox years ago from Selens brand, but was a pain to bring and setup on location. This is a easy to go Softbox, Good quality, nice design .

[300 W] Yeah it's a little pricey but the build quality of the umbrella is excellent. I do wish the included case was better quality for the price. With the diffusion, you get similar softness of light like a softbox, but without the hassle when on location. I despise working with softboxes on location. So much faster to setup an umbrella than a softbox. Takes up way less space than a softbox. And even though it's pricey for an umbrella, it's likely still cheaper than most softboxes of comparable size. If you need a grid to have more control of spill, this may not work. But otherwise it's a great choice.
