[Cardioid] My camera is a Sony Alpha II, which is a very good mirrorless dslr, that takes movies as well. Of course the built in mic is minimal. I tried it out for real at a house concert, with serious audio equipment, and an audience of about 50. The two mics were both pointed at the artist, so it was not really sterio. The sound quality was quite presentable on the external stereo speakers driven from my laptop. My intention is iTunes and Facebook use, not making studio quality audio so it clearly does the job for me.

[f/16] I was shooting with Canon for a decade before switching to Sony and never got to experience the joy of having a flagship 35mm lens in my arsenal during the time. This lens has simply been lens GOALS. I now own a Sony Alpha a9 and the Sony Alpha a7R III as my duo. I am a photographer that shoots portraits for MANY different applications and genres, from fashion, to beauty, to commercial, to editorial, lifestyle, art, everything. I like to have a lot of environment in my shots, so this lens is literally perfection for that cause. At f/1.4, you can shoot a full-body shot wide open and get the majority of details in clothing and face with a pleasantly smooth background. When I need a lot of background in my shot, no other lens adds a such a sense of dimension and belonging in my shots. Closing the lens up results in tack-sharp imagery. Landscapes are incredibly on this lens. Incredible sharpness edge to edge and colors seem so pure. The focus is incredibly fast & snappy on both the a9 & a7R3 and even in lowlight, it finds the target. I've heard a lot of things about this lens being heavy for a mirrorless lens and yes - if you're speaking in terms of mirrorless everything. For those like myself, who are used to heavy lenses like Sigma Art & Canon L optics, this lens actually feels pretty light for what it looks like. One thing I will mention is that if you are used to changing aperture on your camera, I recommend leaving the aperture ring on the lens to "A", otherwise you will have to use the ring each and every time for changes. =]

[0.065 lb] I tested it with Sony a9 II on a Sony 100-400 F 4.5-5.6 lens. It makes it F11.0 Tested it mostly on Bird In Flight and also static Birds with small movement. Focus acquisition is good against flying bird against blue sky. Did not have a chance to try it against water or green foliage. Sharpness and detail are very good with the aforementioned combo. I also tried it on a Sony 200-600 lens. It makes it to be F13.0 which puts it into diffraction zone. It works but I won't recommend using it on that lens much. I also tried it with a Sony a7R IV camera. On the 200-600 lens the Sony a7R IV hunts at continuous focus but works with the Sony 100-400 lens. I will use it with the Sony a9 II camera and Sony 100-400 lens 99 percent of the time.

[0.5 lb] I was hoping that this would fire off my Sony A9 II in any mode i.e. single shot or rapid fire and it does. I can't vouch for the max distance since I really don't plan on being far away from the camera. But I can validate 15'. It's a little large compared to one I use on another model dslr but that doesn't impact my use of it. And I haven't and don't plan on using the video portion of the remote.
