Sony Digital Camera 10X

I have had a few days to play with this camera after returning a Sony RX100 IV. With the exception of lumix's 2.8 aperture, I definitely prefer this camera. I need more zoom than 3.2x optical and this one delivers 10x. I also strongly prefer the lumix's touch screen as well as the 4K video file formats over the Sony. Much easier integration with Mac, Final Cut, iPhone. The lumix's stabilized 4K video is good, even on the back of an ATV. I like the post focus still photo feature, although I wish I didn't have to manually disable it for switching to video. Overall, nice video, good color interpretation, versatile zoom, handy time lapse options, decent bokeh for a point and shoot, and.... It fits in the pocket. :-) it's the only 1 sensor pocket cam with 4K and 10x zoom. I do wish the LCD touch screen could flip up or articulate like the gh4, but as a consolation, the wifi interface is good and you can easily use a smartphone as a second viewfinder. I'm happy with it. A keeper in my opinion.

[8.75 x 5.6 x 2"] The lens I usually use on my Sony a9 costs 10x what this lens cost, and let me tell you, it comes very close. Yes, the contrast is not the same, and at 500mm the corners are little soft. BUT, I can fit this attached to my camera in a small bag, set it up quickly on a tripod if need be (thanks to the arca type foot) and take pictures - not only far, but it will close focus at 150mm with great results. Also, the focusing motor is very fast. No, I'm not giving up my 600mm f4, but if I need a quick and easy setup for wildlife to insects, this is it!

[Snap Fastener] This is our third Sony digital camera, and each time we have been very pleased. This one has just enough features, and the quality of the pictures is outstanding. It is small enough to fit into a back pocket, yet takes high quality pictures that rival my Nikon D5300. Will be getting another one when the time comes, no doubt.
