[4] Never had a monopod and head but I bought a telephoto lens for my Sony mirror less. Definitely the way to go.

[Manual Focus] A great telephoto lens. Very sharp and a wonderful lens for the Sony A7 camera's.

[0.575 lb] I find the sony foots to be a little small. So the first thing I do with all my telephoto lens is swap the foots. These are well built, feels better, longer than Sony version, and Arca-Swiss.

[0.1 lb] Fitting a clear filter to a long telephoto lens (in this case, the Sony 100–400mm GM), I'm always worried about it messing with image quality. I notice no problems with this fixed to my lens. Five stars.

[5 x 4.85 x 4.8"] After purchasing a Sony A6000 last year, I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of affordable telephoto lenses for the Sony E mount. I considered buying the Sony 55-210, but many reviewers said that it was quite soft at the longer focal lengths and that the aperture range was restrictive in many lighting conditions. After digging around, I noticed this lens. There dont seem to be many reviews of it on the internet, but the ones I found were positive. Based on these reviews and my experience with the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 (which is a great budget lens), I decided to purchase the 85mm. After putting it through its paces over the past several weeks, I am very happy with my purchase. The lens is quite sharp and seems to suffer little in the way of distortion or aberration. It can produce very shallow depth of field and nice bokeh. It is quite lightweight and compact for the focal length, and it balances nicely on the A6000. I find the focal length quite fun to shoot. I have had no trouble shooting handheld in daylight conditions (following the reciprocal rule as adjusted for the crop factor). The lens is of course fully manual, but with focus peaking and the focus magnifier on the A6000, I have had no trouble getting well focused shots. In fact, I would say that of the three lenses I now carry (the other two being the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0), this may be my favorite to shoot with. In short, if you are looking for an affordable medium telephoto lens for the Sony A6000 and you are comfortable with a manual prime, I would highly recommend this lens.

[Glass] A real step up for my old Sigma 400mm telephoto lens just adapted for use with my Sony alpha6000 digital camera. The 72mm front element is too big and valuable to leave unprotected and this Hoya clear protector was just the answer. Excellent light admittance made this a great choice for this mid-quality slower lens. Photos are sharp and permit greater latitude for f-stop choices and resultant depth of field. Great purchase!

[Aluminum] I have Sony Nex 5 camera and it was problem to use telephoto lens with it. You can't use tripod and it shakes without it. Now I can use any old manual telephoto lens with tripod. No more fusy pictures. I would recommend Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support to all Sony Nex 3-5 owners.

[Black / Silver] I'm a run and gun shooter for the corporate video I produce, but every now and then I have a podium/stage event or sports event where I know I'll have my telephoto lens glued to my camera. In those cases, I do like to take the time to slide this onto my handheld rig rails and support the lens. It makes telephoto work more stable since you remove the subtle movement that occurs at the lens mount, and also reduces the strain on the camera/lens mount interface for big lenses. Just be sure you get the right height of vertical adjustment so it can reach your lens (there are two different sizes I believe).
