Sony Fw50 Dummy Battery

[2x DC Jack] Sony NP-FW50 batteries are 7.4V, and this battery plate has a DC output for both 7.4V and 12V, meaning you can power Sony a-series cameras off an l-series battery. In other words, you're never going to run out of power again if you have a cage and a few spare l-series batteries, which are way cheaper than buying numerous NP-FWs. Super simple, super well made, and does what it needs to.

[6.4 x 4.6 x 2"] I purchased this charger to go along with my Sony A7 camera, which regretfully does not include a separate charger (only in-camera charging via USB). The Sony-branded charger is both much more expensive than this Watson model and less featured. This Watson charger supports and includes a 12V car adapter as well as a USB port for simultaneously charging a USB device. So, for example, I can charge two NP-FW50 batteries simultaneously, one in the charger and one in the camera via USB. Or, I can charge one NP-FW50 battery and my iPhone simultaneously, only using one AC outlet, which is especially convenient when traveling. My first unit was partially defective in that it could not simultaneously charge my iPhone 4S and an NP-FW50 batterythat combination repeatedly triggered some sort of overload reset. But Watson's customer service responded that it should be able to do that and got me a free replacement quickly, which no longer has that problem. Another aspect of versatility is that the battery interface plate can be replaced, allowing potential use with other battery types, although I haven't exercised that feature.

[Unregulated] This thing works great with my SmallRig D-Tap to Sony NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery. Using this on my Sony A6700 and Sony A7IV to extend record time.

[Sony L-Series] I use the Watson D-Tap Dummy Battery with our Sony FX3 and a7siii and it makes longer shoot days a breeze. On days when we are doing nonstop interviews, this adapter shines. I can usually get through the day with one v-mount battery vs 3-4 OG batteries. It is a time saver on set for sure. I've used it on 2-3 shoots thus far and I haven't had any issues. [68 Wh] This battery is perfect for the Sony FX3. I use it to power my monitor with a dummy battery and the Sony FX3 itself with trickle charge through the USB port. But the best part is that it puts the weight where I want it- on the bottom of the camera instead of up on the monitor, making it easier to shoot a stable image while using a top handle. Plus, it gives me hours of worry-free recording time.

[0.17 lb] Just received this item! I have a Sony a7s and the battery is just awful. I bought this to use an external battery with it. I bought an external 10,000mAh battery by XTPower. I did have to purchase a different DC adapter but when it arrived it plugged right in with power. The power converter in the middle of this dummy battery wire says 7.4v and the standard Sony battery says 7.2v I don't know if that's an issue but it works fine. The battery doesn't show full charge and it keeps coughing down, inaccurately. I have a feeling it will run to zero on the camera but continue to run. The quality of the wire seems solid. The dummy battery is weightless and feels cheap. Hope this helps someone!

[18] I purchased this regulated dummy battery a year ago for my Sony A7II. I teamed it up with a 23000mAh power bank that had two usb ports and most importantly, one variable voltage 2.5mm port (9V - 20V). I used it with great success shooting time lapses involving 1,000s of shots and for lengthy image stacking sessions (I love not having to worry about swapping batteries multiple times and dealing with interruptions). Besides being a great little product I recently discovered that IndiPro is a reputable company that will stand behind their products. About two weeks before the one year warranty was up I discovered it would no longer power my camera. I contacted IndiPro and was asked to send it to them so they could test it. Turned out it worked fine for them but after confirming my connections were correct the quickly shipped me a new unit. No idea why it didnt work for me and did for them? Maybe too much negative energy in the location I was setting it up in ;-)) Regardless, the replacement item works like a charm and the customer service experience was very positive! Ill wouldnt hesitate ordering from IndiPro again.
