[19 lb] Can be used with any synthesizer/digital piano 5 |

[500 mW] I recently purchased a Casio Grand Hybrid digital piano ($3,500). Because this piano's internal amplification is relatively low, I found that I was in need of headphones that can get the full sound of the piano without maxing the volume out, which can cause some distortion of sound. The professional grade (and much more expensive) headphones weren't allowing me adequate volume without maxing out the piano's volume control. Not good. Surprisingly, my workhorse, inexpensive JVC HA-S160 headphones does the job beautifully! I get the full sound of this wonderful digital piano at half volume and, therefore, no distortion of my piano. When I play, it sounds like I'm hearing the piano acoustically, rather than through headphones, also helped also by the comfort of these light-weight, comfortable-on-the-ears headphones. I've had these headphones for more than a year, and was using them for a variety of purposes (even allowing my elementary students use of them!), yet I have had no problems. However, I did purchase a Belkin 1.2 m extension cable ($8.99) to allow a more ample reach between me with my headphones on and the 1/4 headphone input jack on the piano. Now, I only use these headphones for playing my digital piano. Honestly, I see no reason at this point to search for a pair of headphones that might do a better job for this particular, but personally very important, use. 5 |

[1/8" / 3.5 mm] Hook this up to a Roland digital piano. The coiled cable is very useful. I don't have to take it off if I switch piano pieces. I noticed the difference in sound from the old Sony headphone I used before. Senal sound is even, does not hear lots of bass. At first I said that I missed my Sony, but then I started to get the hang of it. I began to notice that I am hearing somewhat close to the sound that the piano actually is producing. Compared this again with Beats, that headphone has too much bass - does not sound natural to me. This Senal headphone is comfortable and construction seems solid. My son uses this when he creates his own music. Listened Pandora on a Mac - I like the sound and no complaints there. I hear all the instrument used in the accompaniment. For the price, you can never go wrong. I will try the SMH-1000 once it goes on sale. I will give it 5 stars. 5 |

[Transpose] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a piano already in the house, I was looking for a light portable keyboard that I could move around easily. Not only did I need it to be portable and light, but I needed it to sound good. The RockJam 88 Key Digital Piano Keyboard Piano with Full Size Semi-Weighted Keys fulfills all of those needs. This keyboard sounds good. It is the closest a keyboard can come to sounding like my upright piano without actually being a regular piano. The features are simple to use and the ability to connect to my iPad and use this in Garage Band is huge. My kids love composing their own songs with it. The sustain pedal works well, but I just wish it was weighted a little more. The RockJam 88 Key Digital Piano Keyboard Piano with Full Size Semi-Weighted Keys is a definite 10 in my book! 5 |

[Dynamic] I've had this for almost a year and feel they are a real breakthrough in headphones. It's a big, grand sound along with palpable, natural images with real-life spatial portrayal. They are not fatiguing, especially with the optional Sony-Kimber headphone cable made especially for the Z1R (available at Amazon). The Z1R to me has a wonderful warm resonance that does sound aggressive, but is still uncannily real. The music flows but has real impact and humanity. You may want to give up on speakers with these headphones. It's a unique sound that you will not find with any other headphones. Many high end headphones can be shrill and painful in the name of a vivid sound, but that can be hard to live with. Not the Z1R, it is inviting while also resolving, with a balanced sound that is riveting and still supremely musical and detailed. And it's very comfortable too. It is best with a good, fairly powerful amplifier. The Z1R is a real cure for over-shrill digital sound. It sound analog, almost vinyl-like with any digital input. It's an awesome achievement for Sony IMHO. 5 |
