Sony Professional Film Cameras

[160] With the demise of film in most new cameras, finding suitable products for professional work is becoming harder. Only the best can survive in such a market and Kodak Porta 160 for 4x5 is still available due to its superior properties. It must be the best film currently available for 4x5 colour photography. Rich beautiful skin tones unmatched by any digital counterpart. On the downside, it's becoming hard to find 50 packs making the less economical 10 pack the only option. Let's hope this film is available for years to come!

[Yes] Great for professional cameras!

[0.28 lb] As a professional cameraman, I have been using these Sony Digital Master HDV tapes for about 10 years for commercials and web videos. I have about 600 in my tape vault, all shot on my Sony Z1U and FX1 cameras. The tapes are extremely dependable. Amazingly, in all these years I've only seen a few momentary drop-outs, and I have never lost a scene to tape damage. These days I use my HDV cameras for second or third cameras on many shoots, or when I need a special look such as low shutter speed. I am very glad that Sony continues to make this tape, and that B&H continues to sell them.

[1.495 lb] I have several lenses from my Contax N slr film camera. I also have several Sony E-Mount cameras. I have a metabones adaptor that I have been using with my Canon lenses that work with full functionality with my Sony camera and have been hoping for an adapter for my Contax lenses, this Metabones adapter fills the bill.

[0.35 lb] The Sony RX1Rii has an odd shutter release button, like the older fashioned film cameras, threaded for a shutter release. Not sure why. This button makes the shutter release much easier to use. A more natural release.

[0.05 lb] i use this lens on both leica film cameras and on a Sony NEX-5 for digital. It is very well built and very versatile. I love the 1.5 aperture for portraits and I find the bokeh very pleasing. Some do not like the style of the photos generated by this lens, but I do very much. On the Sony, it is a joy to use and very easy to manually focus with the focus peaking feature and manual assist. it takes 46mm filters so you may have to get a new size if your other leica lenses are 39mm.
