[128 GB] The NW-WS413 is an improvement over the prior model NWZ-W273. All buttons are easier to press and give more tactile response. The docking contacts on the headphones are raised so they make a better connection to the docking station, which was sometimes a problem with the prior model. It also seems that the maximum volume is a bit louder, which helps me better hear podcasts while swimming. There are a couple of additional functions that I don't use, but otherwise not much of a change. It would be nice to have more memory (at a reasonable price) and the ability to fast forward or rewind within a song or podcast. Overall though, I find these to be the best waterproof swimming headphones currently available.

[4 GB] For a Portable Walkman I still like the NW-WS 6xx series to be able to flip from Bluetooth to local file Mp3 for when I want stories or music without a phone and hands free. The units tend to fail around 14 months so I now buy the extended warranty and its worth every penny.

[64 GB] This is an easy review for me because this is my 9th Sony Walkman. This walkman holds 20-25 books from your library that will never expire.. Connect them to a speaker and you can clean your house, or take a walk and listen quietly while you can’t sleep with earbuds. I’m amazed these aren’t flying off the shelf and big tech companies aren’t updating these wonders.

[1.115 lb] Quite a bit like the old original Sony Walkman, only this seems more solidly built. I put in an old cassette, plugged in headphones and it works great! Wow/flutter not noticeable. And the price is very reasonable... back in 1981 the Sony Walkman cost over $100... so this costing $105 in 2024 is really quite a good deal! There's no noise reduction or bass boost, but that didn't seem to be a problem when I listened to a tape. And the volume control has lots of gain, setting it at a comfortable listening volume I barely had it turned up. I'm thinking of figuring out an adaptor cord to see if I can plug the headphone jack into the RCA plugs on my stereo (where I'll be able to add some equalization if needed).

[Android 12] I am again grateful to Sony for releasing this product. It's an enjoyable experience. I had the NW ZX-507 previously but the larger screen & updated form factor of the NW-ZX707 make it feel like more than just an upgrade to that player but in a different class. Sound I do not use IEMs, I use headphones. I tried this with the Sony MDR-H600A (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced - Sounds great), the Sony MDR-Z7M2 (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced, these are 70MM - required about 90 on the volume but it works with this device). Master & Dynamic MW65's on Bluetooth. With all of those, this device sounds excellent. Tried a few genres, Jazz, vocal & EDM genres. I would like to see in a software update a few DSPs (or at least presets for the equalizer) Battery Life I can't imagine getting the full 20 hours, but in the 12 days since I've had this I haven't run out of battery during the day. What I have seen is that using the 3rd party music app (i.e. Youtube Music / Spotify) will use more battery than the stock music app. There is a setting to restrict background operations because if you install 3rd party apps then those could consume battery. Screen I like the screen when playing Youtube music, it looks good. You can't compare it to a phone because it has it's own look. Size It's a bigger/heavier device than a smartphone. Feels solid. Conclusion This is for someone who wants a dedicated music device & has a collection of HiRes music or uses a HiRes streaming service such as Qobuz. I personally have owned devices from other manufactures & would recommend Sony because it just works better. An example would be how a competitor's device's WiFI was slow because it did not work with 5G or how their bluetooth didn't have enough distance. These are things that just work correctly on the Sony players.

[1.7 lb] Splitting XLR from computer DAC (Schiit Gungnir) to headphone integrated amp receiver (Schiit Ragnarok) and to TV entertainment center processor (Emotiva XMC-1). Does the job with 0 noise or issues. Clean signal to both. Works!!!

[9.39 lb] With the new Walkman this the best combination i have bought in years.

[32 GB] I transferred a 4gb file in 30 seconds. impressive

[21.725 lb] After my old standby NAD integrated Amp died I looked for a long time for an Integrated Amp that was made for analog sources as well as the new array of digital devices. This Amp met my needs and even better it was on sale. Setup was very easy and after just a little working with my wife (she's not very tech savvy) she understood how she could listen to SiriusXM using her tablet. And to top it all off it sounds great. I have already started recommending this unit to my friends.
