I needed to make a wiring harness to fit in a fairly small space and these connectors were great for the application.

[3' (0.91 m)] Even though I have experimented with stereo systems for almost 50 years, I had never bi-wired speakers until I recently purchased Bowers & Wilkins 603 floor-standing speakers. I was intrigued by their bi-wiring option that Crutchfield suggested could provide noticeable improvements in the overall transparency of your loudspeakers if I ran separate speaker wires to the low and high frequency drivers from a single amplifier. After doing some research, I discovered the Canare 4S11 bi-wire speaker cable at B&H. I don't claim to have golden ears, but I do want better sound at a reasonable price, so the Canare cables were interesting. However, I have to admit that to my eyes they looked sort of flimsy in the online picture, so I debated with myself about spending over $130 for two sets of 10-foot cables. Therefore, I was thrilled to discover that the two runs I ordered are not only substantial in diameter, they are professionally terminated with high quality banana cables that give me a tight fit into my vintage Audible Illusions S120 amplifier and my new B&Ws. While I can't tell you that the heavens opened and angelic choirs sang when I plugged them in, the speakers sound wonderful and I am now looking at upstream improvements in my system, including the RME ADA-2 DAC FS. My conclusion is that it only makes sense to bi-wire speakers if the speaker designer provides the option. So for me this was a great purchase. If you have speakers that offer the bi-wiring option, I highly recommending giving these a look.

[29.15 lb] This is a solid integrated amp. I have an RME ADI-2 DAC feeding the CD inputs with the amp set to its CD Direct mode for a straightforward analog signal path. I use the DAC's volume control and leave the Yamaha volume at about 12 o'clock for convenience, with suitable gain for my setup. Since the amp has A and B sets of speaker outputs, and my speakers have a bi-wiring option, I decided to separately feed the speaker's high and low frequency inputs from the amp's A and B outputs. Then, for initial testing of my wiring, I switched A-only or B-only on the amp, to confirm I would hear high-only or low-only sound. That showed my connections were as intended. Then I left the amp switched to feed both A and B. My wiring is nothing fancy, just Monoprice 14-gauge OFC, and this bi-wired hookup is similar to using a single, heavier gauge cable.

[31.1 lb] Hook this up to a pair of Yamaha 777 speaker ($ cheap). Use bi wiring with low impedance setting on amp. Spin vinyl in pure direct mode. May get a Yamaha subwoofer to match piano black finish.

[2.4 lb] Everything looks much better now that the wiring is organized.
