[ARC] I have a Sonos home theater system (Beam, Mini Sub, Sonos 1s') in my living room, and I had an unrelated stereo music setup in another room. I recently bought a turntable which I hooked up to my passive speakers and my older stereo receiver. So I bought the Sonos amp to replace the receiver. Beyond the expected Sonos connection I found an unexpected dramatic improvement in sound quality from my turntable/speakers. Now my stereo sounds great with my vinyl collection and can be played n my living room and anther room where I have additional Sonos speakers. Fantastic! The amp has also given me other benefits -- a TV connected to it via HDMI, IOS control, etc. Well worth the cost.... 5 |

[< 0.5% ] The Pyle PTA2 Mini 2X40W Stereo Power Amp is the perfect amp for the stereo minimalist. This amp, a good turntable and nice speakers will provide the perfect retro vinyl album experience. Try it and enjoy, it's 1969 again! 5 |

[44.5 lb] I am a physicist. (energy physics not matter physics). I am also a sound engineer, coincidentally, the control of sound energy. This amp is VERY GOOD for bench testing audio control devices and speakers. The addition of an unbalanced input makes it very handy for typical bench tests. Because I am retired I also use commercial speakers for my home stereo system. Use of commercial speakers is much cheaper than consumer speaker products that, by and large, do Not provide full range audio despite deceitful specs claiming otherwise. The commercial speaker is also built to last and far more reliable than consumer designs. (will last decades under home stereo use... my last amp lasted 31 years... speakers are still going strong) I use this amp as my home stereo amp driving 1,200 watt rated commercial speakers that actually reproduce 20Hz. (actual amp power use rarely exceeds 75 watts peak and 25 watts average) In that unique use... the amp fan noise is detectable so I place it behind a glass paneled cabinet. Aside from fan noise, the amp performs very well and for the price is one of the best bargains there is. Keep in mind... the typical consumer stereo amp is Designed To Fail and the primary reason is.... no active fan cooling. (a flawed design that minimizes ambient noise) The amp provides plenty of dynamic headroom (nearly 6dB under typical home stereo use) and presents no excessive noise floor problems. I use a receiver with balanced XLR outputs, a balanced 31 band EQ to drive the amp and control volume. My speaker connections are Speakon. Bottom line... A very good simple amp for multiple purposes at a very good price. If you are an engineer who loves music and movies you will quickly recognize the wisdom of putting up with a bit of fan noise to achieve excellent performance and very long term reliability. 5 |

[>-86 dB] This receiver has revitalized my 1980s stereo system by allowing Bluetooth transfer from my Sony Walkman (CD quality) and from an iPhone. When powered the receiver goes into pairing mode--your device remembers this receiver...you are connected. So far there has been no problem with connection or distance from the receiver. As this is my second unit (first attached to another stereo system) I only wish I could rename the unit as it comes up with the same name...only to be identified by the Bluetooth address. If you only have one of these, this will not be an issue. Attachment is simple: connect using RCA supplied cord to your receiver aux input. Having it on a switched plug on the receiver is very convenient. If not, you would have to push the light button to switch it into on mode. It has an auto off after a few minutes of not receiving a signal. It also has an optical connection. 5 |

[Yes 1200 Joules] I needed a single power strip for all of my stereo equipment in a rack. I have a 20 amp circuit so I needed a power strip that could handle the load. This one does. The LEDs are very bright but I covered them with a dark cloth. I can still see them, but they're not a distraction. Keep in mind it requires a NEMA 20 amp receptacle with the turned blade. 5 |

[2.0] My (very old) Kenwood 'KM-106' stereo power amp. finally bit the dust. And although my desktop PC is kitted with full-range speakers plus a sub-woofer, the music played thereon still lacked the depth and 'punch' that I enjoy. Enter the A-S501, it has enabled me to once again enjoy a full sound in my library/den - and blends in well with its 30+ year old compatriots q;~). Also, since it has a 'pure direct' audio option, I don't bemoan that I cannot connect my equalizer and reverb. And although shipping to Bermuda, plus local import duty took my purchase a little over-budget, it is money well spent. (N.B. - not everything on the rack is connected) 5 |
