[-43 / -23 dB] I really should have bought the ADX20IP Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone WITH the APS910 Power Supply ... but oh well ... live and learn. I use it connected to the Tascam DR-100 MKII and have loved the results.

[1.905 lb] Bought it and using it as an alternative large diaphragm condenser microphone for vocal and acoustic recording. Definitely a difference in character of sound and quality as compared to staple SM 58 Shure. Good with details and such. One slight gripe may be the limited peaking capacity. the -10dB pad is there but I personally don't believe that I should be using it most of the time. Loud recording applications may feel some limitations, however its value to performance ratio is a definite plus. Good well rounded function and use so far! If you're using it in the home studio make sure you have some isolation proofing done b/c it will pick up the echos. (and also thin window pane means you'll get car traffic noise picked up in this thing - very sensitive!)

[Black] Sturdy microphone stand purchased to hold a heavy condenser microphone in a studio environment. Gets the job done, and as a 5'8 guy, it is able to adjust to a great height for recording vocals while standing.

[5 V] Purchased two SM81-LC - Cardioid Condenser Mic by Shure to use for drum overheads. The bomb! These mics do not color the sound. What you hear when you play is what you will hear out of the mixer. Fantastic mics. I don't have any other instrument condensers to compare them to, and I will never need to. It couldn't get any better than this. I'm using recorderman setup with two additional mics on bass drum and bottom of snare. This is perfect for recording drums. Sounds fantastic on conga too!

[Supercardioid] For when there is a little noise, I wanted a condenser with a hyper cardioid pattern. but those really cost. This is well past your SM58 or E835 at the high end, and the low is good at 6inches. The bright/not-harsh high end is incredible, and it is detailed like the RodeNT1 I usually use. I'm loving this thing.

[3.415 lb] This is the best value in low cost small diaphragm condenser microphones that I have found. Offering both Omni and Cardioid capsules, other microphones usually cost more than double the price for similar features. There is no switch to click to change the mic pattern; one simply has to unscrew the capsule and change it that way. I use it for recording acoustic guitar and find the sound to be perfect and I am very happy with my purchase. I'm so glad I got this mic as it is now discontinued....so get em' while they're still to be found. As a side note, this microphone is almost identical to the Superlux 241.

[1 to 3 V] Before purchasing this, I actually purchased a Sennheiser e965 condenser vocal, which is apparently their top-of-the-line handheld vocal mic. While it was certainly a very high quality mic which I am sure works great for many others, it just didn't fit my voice, even with some EQ experimentation. So, I sent it back and decided to try the e865. Yes! Incredible warmth and presence, able to cut through the band with room to spare, great intelligibility. Short story, I love this mic!

[Cardioid] used for southern gospel group as vocal mics. bought to replace some old AKG condenser mics that had seen to many miles. these Sennheiser 856e will pull even the most timid singers out of the noise and make it possible to hear them. they sound great and very little problem with feed back.
