[12 VDC] I am using the MovieMaker Pro to scan 50+ year old 8mm and Super 8 films from my wife’s family. I’m thrilled at how easy this has been. I expected it to be a lot more difficult. I did have to dial in the frame adjustments, but once I figured that out it’s been easy. Occasionally it will hang up on splices, but all I have to do is manually advance the film a bit and then I can start right back scanning. One thing I did have to figure out is that you need to advance the film past the white leader before starting to scan. It takes just over half an hour to scan a 3-in reel, which I find to be plenty fast. The only negative I can think of is that the documentation could be more helpful. In short, I highly recommend the MovieMaker Pro. It does exactly what it advertises, and it does it well.

[0.54 lb] I use this with a super 8mm camera. It works well for the light exposure. I use the gray side.

[Zipper] Using for my 8mm film / 35mm slide micro-cinema... My sound support... Simple set-up with an iPhone...has 2 channel RCA inputs w/gain controls. Patch directly to the 'Thump Go' speaker... Can add an additional 'Mackie' power speaker...has a XLR output. Hope my thoughts are helpful.

[MP4] This converter was exactly what I was looking for to transfer 8mm film to digital. Very easy to use and transferred straight to an SD card. I converted over 3 hours of film to digital over the course of a week and never had a problem. I would recommend this product. I did have to order 7 inch reels straight from Wolverine (and they came super quick).

[0.225 lb] I'm in the process of scanning 8-10K feet of 8mm home movies from the '40s thru the '70s. I quickly learned cleaning the film with a cotton glove or a micro fiber cloth was scraping a lot of colorful stuff off the film. I asked B&H support for a recommendation - and this is what they suggested. Excellent choice! I've since done a few hundred additional feet - just stand the Ministat next to the Wolverine Pro and let the film run through during the scan. Dust and fibers no longer enter the scanner. Resulting digital files look better, too, than the first few hundred feet. I haven't fiddled with the silver foot base. It may be magnetic or it may have an adhesive surface under a peel off tab. I don't need a permanent mount for what I'm doing - so no opinion on the base. Also, Ministat has smaller versions of this device, but this is fine - I'm supporting B&H and it will be a good size when I begin scanning 35mm slides. THANKS B&H for a great recommendation.

[0.14 lb] Fomapan 100 gives my Regular 8MM Movies a film noir touch, I feel!!! I love that it is intriguingly from The Czech Republic and it shoots beautifully in my collection of 8MM Movie Cameras; particularly my Revere Model 84 with a three-lens turret and the capability to shoot up to 48 frames per second which this filn handles extremely well! And I am extremely grateful to B&H for making this availale and keeping film rolling along in more ways than one!!!

[Achromatic lens] I purchased the Peak 22x Loupe and the Porta-Trace Gagne 10x12 light box and the combination works perfectly to select sections of 8mm film to scan to create .tif files. The Peak 22x Loupe is perfect for taking a look at individual frames on 8mm film.
