Surveillance Cameras 360 View

[Metal] Wanted another camera to go with six camera kit with nvr which were used for outside surveillance. Placed new camera inside to see down hallway. Great view and image.

I ordered this to be shipped to Australia, the delivery was fast, the price was excellent. Much better value than buying the scope here. The box was well packed by B&H with no damage. I was a bit sceptical that the alignment would work from my balcony as I don't have a 360 degree view, but it didn't matter, using manual align I point it at 3 places in my field of view and even on a full moonlit night the camera was finding between 50-100 stars. It only needs 20-50 stars for each calibration point. The only thing I can fault would be the fact that it takes 8 D-cell batteries (expensive) as opposed to the nexstar which used AA's. The batteries are housed in a holder which comes with a bag. There is a socket that plugs into the side of the scope. There is a chance that it could get tangled up, however the scope does have a feature where it sometimes rotates 360 degrees to undwind the cable if it thinks it's motion may wrap the cable. To offset the cost of the batteries I bought a 12V lead acid motorcyle battery and carry bag, car cigarette lighter connections and the celestron telescope cigarette light cable. It saves my lots of money on batteries and helps weigh down the tripod, which is already very sturdy. The telescope is on an alt-azimuth mount, however if you wanted to purchase an equtorial mount (for very long exposure astro photography) with rings later on the main scope could be easily transferred to that. [50 Devices] There are lots of free applications for IP Cameras, but if you're serious about IP Surveillance you can't do better than Axis Camera Station, and the best way to acquire the licenses is from B&H.

[10 Gb/s ] I wanted to set up some surveillance cameras that required PoE, and this switch required little technical knowledge and worked right away!

[Clamp] On a whim, I thought I'd try using this to hold my tablets on my desk while working and watching news and surveillance cameras. Put on mini, adjustable tripods which allows me to add more devices on already cluttered desktop without adding too much footprint.

[1 x 100 W] We have purchased two of these so far to use primarily as NVRs for a large number of IP cameras on a school campus. Licensing costs aside, Synology Surveillance Station does a really nice job making it easy to set up and scale with the number of cameras you have. We linked two together, making one the primary and the other a secondary target for recordings. Surveillance Station records direct-to-disk, and does a decent job of adjusting camera settings directly using ONVIF. We have about 50+ cameras running at resolutions from 1280x720 up to 2560x1600, some PTZ, some ceiling-mount fisheyes, mostly wide angle fixed, and everything works pretty well. We were even able to use the manual camera configuration to use some uncommon double-lens cameras. With about 26 cameras assigned to each RS422+, we see about 20-25% CPU on each on average during a typical day. We can comfortably handle 32 per unit, and supposedly up to 40 if needed. With x4 6TB drives in each set in SHR-1 (equivalent to RAID5) we have about a month or so of footage retention. The licensing is a little pricey at $50 per camera (unless you buy in bulk from some european IP camera shops...), but it is perpetual and I think worth the expense. Using two of these units, 8 cheap drives from eBay (luckily these do not suffer from the Synology whitelist) and a bunch of camera licenses, for around under $5000 I was able to build and set up a really easy to use and reliable NVR system with plenty of future expandability. 2-3 users are regularly connected on their desktops without issue.

[550 TB] We've been using the Purple WD hard drives for several years on our surveillance cameras. The have worked flawlessly. The price is reasonable and it's a snap to install and initialize.

[70 G] My surveillance NVR came with a 2TB hard drive, with 8 cameras it needed more storage. This WD Purple 8TB provided that extra storage capacity.
