[3/8"-16 Male] Believe the specs on this stand. Yes, it is VERY tall given it is a typical stage mic stand format. And it is K&M quality, which to me means it telescopes smoothly, the collars lock in place as expected and the hinges on the legs fold up as they should. The base has a good weight to it and might take the place of needing a sand bag or weight at the base of the stand if adding a boom arm... but of course that always depends upon your specific situation. The caveat that needs mentioning with this mic stand is: the last tube section of the fully extended, telescoped stand, is a smaller diameter than normal on a mic stand. For smaller microphones, light-weight mics, or short boom arms loaded with NOT too heavy mics, this smaller diameter tube will work just fine. HOWEVER, if you intend to use a heavier boom arm with this stand, extending out over a longer distance, loaded with a heavy, larger mic, you will be unhappy with the results. Use this stand with some commonsense regarding what mic or boom you place upon the smaller diameter tube of the fully extended, telescoped stand and you will have an unusually tall mic stand at your disposal that is well made.

[53.4 x 18 x 3"] For years I've used a pro-sumer tall stand with a boom and always with fear of mics crashing 12'+ to the floor. After one close call, I bought the K&M tall stand. Great build quality with a double lock system and VERY sturdy construction. No more fear of falling!

[Black] Very versatile light stand. Can be used either as a boom or a tall pole. Sturdy with a large footprint and fixture for counterweight for stability. Comes with a bag for the counterweight, but the user must provide the sand filling. Well worth the price.

[10.17 lb] The T3664 with B2237 is also called the BT3664 as a set. The T3664 is the tall stand. After looking for a high quality boom stand to hold my vocal mic and iPad in front of me, this is the best portable one available. It's more expensive, but my last mic stand is still OK after 25 years of use. This one will outlast me. It's very solid and the swivel point has steps so that the boom arm won't sag. I decided to buy from B&H because there was no shipping charge. The base price was similar all over the web. It was shipped direct from Atlas (drop-shipped, as they call it).

[-45 dB/pa] These are some of the best stands. I am impressed with all of the K&M stands. This one may actually be heavier than a tall boom stand, which is great since the kick mics tend to be heavy. Great stand for getting in the port and way up inside the kick if you wish. I expect it to hold up better than budget brands, but time will tell.

[Round] I purchased this stand to serve as a tall microphone stand. The base is wide and the weight of the unit is enough that I don't feel nervous about it or that additional ballast is necessary. The largest section diamater is 35 mm or about 1-3/8; the smallest diamater is 25 mm or about 1. In addition to the hand-tightening knobs, there is an allen-key set screw at each section (key included).

[Screw-Knob] I have used this combination boom and stand in the studio for more years than I can remember. It's like a Neumann microphone...it's not a studio without one. Tuff, smooth and easy to use. Nothing bad to say about it.

[Chrome ] It's just the right length for my application. I have a tight working area for audio. I have the boom on a microphone stand behind the rack and it comes through from the back, so that the microphone is positioned directly over the mixer. Plenty of adjustments make it fit almost any application.

[5/8"-27 Male] I needed a boom arm but not the stand to hold it, so this was perfect. It's substantial enough that I can trust it to hold the microphone, and it telescopes smoothly.
