Thunderbolt Charger For Macbook Pro

[Full-Stop] I purchased this to make an external boot drive for my 2015 MacBook Pro. This device is probably the fastest way to add external storage to my machine since the Thunderbolt 2 ports are far faster than the USB3 ports. Since this Sabrent Thunderbolt 3 enclosure is self-powered, you can use the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter in reverse, making full use of the MacBook's Thunderbolt 2 port and getting super fast transfer speeds, making it suitable for use as a boot drive. I don't have any benchmark utilities, but I copied a large VMware image from the internal Apple SSD to an external 2TB FireCuda 530 and saw an Activity Monitor peak write speed of 1.6GB/sec, which is super fast. The case gets a little warm, but that means that it is effectively sinking heat from the M2 drive. I used this to successfully build and test a system upgrade to Mojave, and will continue to use this to occasionally run modern OS versions that I don't want to permanently upgrade to due to software compatibility issues with old apps I still need to run. Right now, it's Velcro'ed to the laptop lid and holds a 1TB drive waiting to test Catalina, so I can see which apps break before deciding if I want to take the plunge. All in all, it's perfect as an external drive for my older MacBook Pro, it's well priced, and extremely well constructed. I'll continue to use it for the rest of the life of this machine, and it'll still be useful if I upgrade to a more modern machine later.

[0.155 lb] This fits 16 M1 MacBook Pro perfectly. All the ports work perfectly with one port having Thunderbolt 4 full speed and the display shuts perfectly even when installed. Just what the doctor ordered.

[6.6' / 2.0 m] I purchased this Thunderbolt 4 cable to improve transfer speed between my MacBook Pro (Intel) and iPad Pro M1. Thunderbolt 4 cable made a HUGE difference, compared to USB C cable that came with the iPad. 6.6' is a bit lengthy but I am not complaining. I totally recommend this product if you are looking to improve transfer speed.

[0.14 lb] We use this in our living room with a late-model Macbook Pro connected via Thunderbolt - HDMI. The user interface is clear and easy-to-use, the resolution is sharp and the picture is bright enough to use in the afternoon, even without all of the shades drawn closed. Throw in a tethered lens cap and a padded case, and this projector gives you plenty of bang for your buck.

[0.63 lb] I was surprised how robust this drive is. This is my first Thunderbolt drive and it does not disappoint at all. OWC makes incredible sturdy products so I shouldn't expect anything less with this drive. I get about 2050 mb/s write and 2720 mb/s read on my MacBook Pro 16 inch M1 Pro 2021 and about 415 mb/s write and 420 mb/s read using the tethered usb c to usb a adapter on my MacBook Pro 15 inch Retina mid 2012. It's a big step up coming from a hard disk drive haha. I got the 4TB version formatted to Apple's APFS file system and it works flawlessly. I definitely recommend this Thunderbolt drive for anyone looking for a Thunderbolt drive.

[Bus Powered] Fast. Thunderbolt 3 is so much better for MacBook Pro backups than other interfaces. As noted by some other reviews, this disk gets warm. Noticeably warmer than the LaCie 4TB drive I also use for the same backup job.

[Yes] Migrated from an old iMac to a new MacBook Pro. Needed more connectivity than that offered by the three Thunderbolt 4 ports on the MacBook. Spoke with an associate at B&H Photo who recommended this dock. It handles all the connectivity I need for 2 external hard drives, a digital/audio interface, MIDI keyboard, Lightning connectors for my iOS devices, and more. I'm quite amazed that these are all connected to a single Thunderbolt 4 port and are working just fine without any lag. I was a little concerned that the Thunderbolt 3 Dock might not handle the job, but I've seen no issues.
