Tokina 11 16 Blackmagic Cinema Camera

[0.645 lb] I moved up to the 8 dome from the 6, and the difference in my footage using a Tokina 11-16 was dramatic. The corners are sharper and since I have a look around area visible on my monitor, I can see that the edges of the dome are much farther away from the edges of the sensor's recorded area. Feels like I'm shooting through the sweet spot in this dome instead of barely fitting in the image. As other have mentioned, it's BIG, so be very sure the dimensions are acceptable to your specific housing. Also, I use a shower cap over the port opening when it's off the housing to prevent any dust/etc. from falling inside, because the inside of this dome is not easy to clean.

[82 mm] I lost my lens cap for my Tokina 11-16 while away from home on a trip. I didn't have any other protective filters with me (e.g. UV), so I dropped by a big box store to pick up one of their 77mm caps. While it fit the lens, it prevented to hood from attaching properly (too thick). When I got home, I ordered this replacement online from B&H. It fits just like the original.

[Empty] I haven't started using it yet because the Tokina 11-20 has it's own closed pouch in my camera bag. However if the lens is ever out by itself it is going in the pouch. I watched a co-students lens roll out of his bag at Grand Teton National Park and down a 30-foot cliff to the Jackson Lake beach. It still worked after multiple bounces on the rocks along the way.

[4x 18650] I have tried it with my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, which is too wide to fit without some kind of adapter. First, I just used the riser that comes with the gimbal, offsetting the upper plate. That worked, but made it hard to attach the camera. Then I got a quick release plate (just an inexpensive one made by a company called Andoer). That is certainly more convenient. I have never used a gimbal before, but found it very easy to balance the camera on it. The roll lock certainly helps. I would guess it took no more than 5 minutes, and I expect to get faster at it as I gain experience. Its very easy and intuitive to use, solidly built, and the motors are certainly strong enough (but I havent tried it with a heavy lens). The batteries take a long time to charge, but seem to last a long time. I suspect one could get a full day of use out of them.

[0.25 lb] I use this for my Blackmagic Cinema 4K camera and my IKAN Quick Snap Pro Battery Rail Kit with V-Mount Battery Plate for Blackmagic Cinema Camera / Production Camera. When I bought the V-mount it came with the P-Tap to BMCC adaptor but it came with an additional add on part to fit in the AC jack on my camera. I had it for a week and some how the adaptor piece broke. The v-mount plate works great and is sleek but I needed a replacement part to have it work. I found this and everything is much easier. Theres no additional plug to make this work, this is ready to use out of the box and works perfectly with the Blackmagic Camera. No headache, no issue and so far its working perfectly. Worth the money.

[Nickel] I bought it to see if I could get some fair in camera audio for my Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K using a Tascam DR-100MKII as a microphone for some interviews. I'm really tired of capturing audio with an external audio recorder, then finding the audio clip, synchronizing with video and repeating the process in post. I wanted to try to get in camera audio even if that means to deal with some messy cables from my camera. So this Hosa Technology REAN 3.5mm TRS to Dual 1/4 TS Pro Cable was the best solution I could find. In camera audio quality was fair if you place the Tascam about 3 feet away from the talent, I'm pretty sure an audio technician can get even better results as I'm more about video. In post you can enhance what you captured eliminating the white noise. You can also use the cable to attach it to wireless audio receiver it works ways better with a Lavalier system.
