Tube Bass Amp Head

[Open-Back] Great sound. I use with a tube amp and they do great

[0.585 lb] Has been on my want list for a while so the sale on the package of amp and phones was too irresistible. I don't even have 50hrs on this setup and it sounds great. I have some nice cans and a Woo tube amp for reference and a Marantz SA11S2 disc spinner. Have never like solid state head amps till now. The 800S cans have some of the Senn house sound and not that different from the 600S but to use an oft used cliche, there is more there, there. Garbage in garbage out but with SACD's I have been listening to, the 800S sounds spectacular. Maybe a tad recessed in the mids but that could be remedied with some eq. All the bass is there but this is not a bass head can to be sure. I am running these balanced all the way. I do not like their 1/8 balanced plug cable that the 800S comes with. It also has 1/4 single ended cable. Never heard of an 1/8 balanced jack but the HDV820 has one. The 800S is a light and comfortable can with a sweet but full non fatiguing sound. And another cliche, I am hearing things I never heard before in recordings I know intimately. Highly recommended.

[Zipper] My TC Electronic BH250 bass amp head was getting a little beat-up from hauling it around without any kind of a case. I bought this for it, and it's totally perfect! The B&H price is also about 1/2 what others charge for similar bags. Nice extra pouch for holding power cord and guitar cord. Over the shoulder strap will allow me to make single trips for load-in. This on one shoulder, gig bag with bass on the other, and both my hands are free now for carrying my TC 2x8 cabs. Made in Vietnam btw, not china.

[0.01%] I use to as a headphone interface to a guitar tube amp DI out. It works great for that.

[Download] I have had a tube mic for awhile set up with analog compressors and a tube Pre amp. This mic sounds better without having to have all the extra gear. Thank you Slate!

[2x AAA] The solid-state analog circuitry provides a very pleasing sound when using clean channel. The stock speaker is fine and does not need to be replaced per various YouTube videos. The sound is warm and almost like a tube amp as notes and chords trail off gently in waves. This amp is perfectly suited for me as an older guitar player who plays blues, rock and jazz at relatively low volume levels. I always look forward to playing guitar and hearing this amp and will continue to use and enjoy its clean channel with a $25 Azor analog reverb pedal. I strongly recommend this amp to anyone who wants that British tube like amp sound without spending a ton of money.

[Tube] Excellent sounding amp with nice lows a great midrange and very even highs should sound even better when the tube breaks in

[Steel] I bought the amp for the following reasons: 1. It is made in the USA; 2. It is vacuum tube based, pure class A amp; 3. The price. I have replaced the stock tube with a Mullard re-issue tube and let it bake for the total of 24 hours. I use it with HiFiman Sundara, Vincent integrated as the tube pre-amp. The sound is very balanced, non-fatiguing but not excessively tube-warm. It's a pleasure to listen to for hours. Highly recommended.
