[Bus Powered] Love this portable SSD for storing my RAW file archive to free up space on my laptops SSD drive. My laptop only has USB-A ports so the Crucial X6 SSD does not perform at it's maximum performance. I get approximately ~20-25 MB/s when writing files to it. There is also a bit of a lag when I edit RAW pics that are stored on the X6 using CaptureOne but that is a function of my laptop only having USB-A and not the X6 SSD drive.

[1] I use this enclosure with a 2015 5K iMac in lieu with a 750GB Crucial SSD, as a boot drive over USB 3. The speed is great, about 2.5x faster than the internal 7200 rpm regular HDD (but that also depends on the SSD type, it's not even the fastest kind). I have also used it for a while with a 2010 27 iMac, also as a boot drive but over FireWire 800 (as that model only has a slower yet USB 2), and the speed gain was fascinating, there was no need to crack open the machine and put the SSD inside (as was originally planned). The product itself is very nicely built and easy to assemble. Somewhat thicker than other similar enclosures I have, but not by much. The included faux leather pouch is quite fancy too!

[0.16 lb] Fits perfect and own three plus the ssd to usb adapter andy cine has for these. Works just like any other external drive and slides into atomos ninja v perfectly.

[0.13 lb] The Sandisk 3D SSD works well in a USB 3 dock as an external media drive for audio/video editing.

[Cable] I previously had a USB MicroB to USBA 3.0. Using this cable with USBC I, was shocked to see how fast this cable is, especially that the hard drives are USB MicroB and not the fancy blazing USB-C type. Keep in mind that the data transfer speed will depend on what drive you will be using and your computer’s resources. I tested on BOTH, a regular old school mechanical drive and a SSD Drive, a Samsung EVO 850, which is over 3 years old, in a USB MicroB case. A brand new SSD I’d guess would perform even better. I also have pictures posted with this review. Make sure to check them out ,as there are many examples there. You might need to use a full desktop browser if you can't see them on the BH App. I got speeds as fast as 440 Mbps on my SSD and the old school drive, 101 Mbps. I’m pretty happy with this cable. [Zipper] these things are great for the action cameras. They hold my action 3 and a 1gig sandisk ssd drive with usb cable.
