[Metal, Aluminum] I have five docks that I am actively using. In spite of the price, I will likely swap them all out with this dock (if they ever become available and especially if I can get it on sale again like I did the first one). It is one USB-C short of the other Kensington dock I have, but unlike all the others, my computer does not complain about the amount of USB draw when I use this dock. With this dock I don't get the message USB devices using too much power. My Garmin Edge 1000 connects every time. On other docks I have to convince it that it is connected to a computer. And my monitors start up right away. On others I have to power them off and on sometimes to get the computer to see them. It still uses a (huge) power adapter, but this one also has a power button which lets me power cycle it if I need to. (Not that I have needed to - unlike all the other docks that I have.). Seriously, once this is back in stock, I will be buying at least two more. 5 |

[0.045 lb] My mom uses computer speakers connected to the headphone jack on her Mac Mini. The jack failed (evidently this isn't uncommon). As an inexpensive workaround, I picked up this USB audio adapter, and it worked like a charm. Even plugged into a USB hub, it stays recognized and selected in the Sound System Preferences pane even after rebooting and waking from sleep. 5 |
