[0.02 lb] We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

[64 GB] Different USB flash drives have significantly different read/write speeds. This SanDisk Ultra is several times faster than cheaper flash drives. The SanDisk Ultra Pro is even faster, but a lot more expensive. This one seems to be the sweet spot in terms of performance vs. price. If you use a flash drive for transferring large files between your work computer and your home computer like I do, it's worth buying a better flash drive that has read/write speeds like this one. I'm attaching a Crystal DiskMark test that shows the read/write speeds of this flash drive

[Metal] In terms on read and write speeds it's definitely not the fastest to transfer files. In my test with Black Magic Disk Speed Test I averaged about 60mb/s write speeds and read speeds at about 150mb/s. Out of the box it's formatted to FAT32 so I had no issue using the flash drive on both my Macbook Pro and my phone. The flash drive comes preloaded with Sandisk's Memory Zone app for android, which makes it pretty easy to clear up storage on your phone and transfer them to the flash drive. Of course the main selling point to me for this flashdrive was the build quality and the size of the flashdrive. The entire flashdrive is about the size of a regular house key and it's crazy to imagine that SanDisk was able to fit 1tb of storage onto it. The flash drive feels good in your hands with it's metal design, the hole at the top of the flash drive allows me to keep the flash drive on my key ring for files for having instant access to my files where ever I go. The USB-C and USB-A interface means I can grab files from anyone while i'm on the go. To sum it up it's definelty not the fastest drive out their, but in terms and size, build quality, and design, to me this flashdrive is a no brainer.

[0.685 lb] The 8TB storage is a welcomed addition to my gaming platform. Do not try to run any games off of this drive as it is still not fast enough (I am using the USB 3.0 connector as my rig has no USB-C slots which limits my read/write speed) but, if you use this to free up internal SSD space, then you can benefit from this additional drive just as I have. Do not get me wrong - the read/write speed is smoking fast comparatively speaking to HDDs. It's just that my machine will not allow me the comfort of USB-C speeds. This is my limitation but, if you have USB-C slots, you will enjoy a rather significant boost in performance. For this reason, I give this drive 5 stars!!!

[1 x 72 W] OWC / Other World Computing Mercury Elite Pro Dual 6TB 2-Bay USB 3.1 Gen 1 RAID Array (2 x 3TB) Purchased this to use on my Windows 10 computer at home.  Works like a charm.  Using it in RAID 0 mode for video editing.  Spins up very quickly.  Very quiet too, not hearing any high-pitched noise from the fan that some people are reporting.  Using the eSATA connection via a SATA-eSATA bracket which allows me to connect directly to the motherboards SATA port.  Read/write speeds are very good, much better than USB 3. Only complaint I have, which others have as well, is that the lights are WAY too bright.  I plan on opening the case up and taping some ND gel to the inside in front of the lights to darken them a bit. Highly recommend this external drive enclosure for those looking for more drive space with quick read/write speeds.
