Without the external power supply, other types of USB hubs do not provide enough power to keep external drives up and running--drives connected other, buss-powered hubs often turn off, and become unavailable in Windows. No such issue with this one. This is also impressively well made. The sleek metal enclosure, power switch and USB ports all inspire confidence that this will have a long life. I have the 7-port version of this, and it has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years of constant service. This hub installed on my Windows 10 PC instantly, and every drive I connect to it gets enough power to work well and stay connected and remain visible on my PC.

And now they include rack mount ears in a clever arrangement. Finally the best part - make sure to install their custom driver and don't use the default Windows one. That way you get interface multi-client, meaning the driver does not get locked to one client (so you can run multiple applications off the interface at once). Otherwise avoid the MOTU interfaces. I had to junk a MIDI Express XT because their driver (from 2013!) refuses to let a Windows computer sleep. They verified the issue, but yet at the time of this review, many months later, they neglect to fix it. So I had to buy a new interface, but this one is better anyhow.

[99% sRGB] I used to have a usb hub, the laptop charger and a monitor. The new monitor with a single usb-c cable both charges my mac and allows for the monitor connection. The usb hub is there in case i need to connect a usb key or something extra. If it also had a camera and mike built in it would be amazing (i got the camera separately). I'm very happy with it.

[6.4 to 13 VDC] I have one of the MacBook Pros that only has USB c ports and for that reason, I love this hub. This hub is connected to my laptop about 90% of the time. One hub adds six ports. I use the HDMI a ton, and the USB c ports are also powerful enough to power my still camera which is amazing. I love that the SD has regular and micro as well. All in in all it's a great addition to any laptop with USB c that needs more versatility. (I received this in exchange for my honest review)

The hub works great for me, since I often have more than 2 USB devices to plug into my laptop. Its cord is plenty long enough, all the ports work, and it fit the budget. Would get again if I had another computer that needed it.

[Bus Powered ] This hub is very small which is perfect for me. My laptop has only one USB port so I wanted a small hub like this for when I need my wireless mouse (with dongle), USB drive, and sometimes a USB keyboard. So this tiny little hub stays out of the way and lets me plug in what I need.

[8.9 x 2.7 x 1"] It is so sad to lose SD/USB ports in my laptop. This Type-C hub came to the rescue. Very convenient.
