Used Canon Camcorders

[0.245 lb] Slowly, the batteries for the 2 Canon Vixia HFS100 camcorders I purchased years ago stopped hold a charge, rendering them useless. The spare battery I had purchased years ago does not have a smart connection, and so on the shelf it sat. They all sat until I purchased the Watson replacements recently, directed by a chat person as a replacement, which Canon never made; they only made the original batteries that came with the camera. It's like having new cameras again. I really do appreciate the information and the robust smart batteries. Thank you BH for your all-around expertise.

[7.4 V at 2 A] Works on All my Canon Vixia camcorders that use the BP-828 battery, including the HF G50. With a 10,000mah USB power bank I was able to record non-stop for 6+ hours.

[1x USB-C ] The Canon VIXIA is a solid brand of camcorders and the Canon G70 fulfills that promise that older G series VIXIA camcorders have. Dual recording reliability, sharp video, stellar autofocus and stabilization puts Canon at the top of the list for camcorder versatility. This is also a great option if you record audio externally, and don't need the XLR inputs. I've used a bunch of VIXIA's to record concerts and musicals with an external audio mixer/recorder over the years, and never had one freeze on me. Make sure your memory card can handle 4K video. Sandisk extreme V90 works best. That being said, buy the larger batteries if need be, and use some extension cords if necessary with the AC adapter if you can.

I ordered three and that should tell you how nice they are. As a certain level of the industry changes, zoom controls with camcorders are becoming extinct. My canon zoom controls were breaking down and no one repaired them. There are better replacements.

[1] I have Sony and Canon camcorders with this charger I can charge the Sony and Canon batteries by means of an adapter for each brand. Mean while I can use the camcorder with an extra battery without waiting for charging the battery.

[1 oz / 28 g] I'm using these tripod heads mounted to Impact Super Clamps with two Canon HFR 800 camcorders on top (all from B&H). The pan tilt action is smooth and although these are made of plastic I'm sure we'll get many years of use in this particular application.

[1/2.5"-Type MOS] I was looking for lightweight 4K camcorders with good optics to complement my bulkier Canon XA-50s which are excellent, but a little too bulky for certain overhead mounting applications. These fit the bill perfectly and the quality is excellent. I especially like the ability to plug the USB charging cords directly into large power bricks for long shoots - something the Canons can't do.

[2] We use this with Canon camcorders to tape worship services for our online church It provides great sound quality and was a very good value for the cost.

[0.15 lb] Our school has ten VIXIA camcorders, and we use Canon batteries exclusively. Generic batteries may work but we've found a wide range of quality. If reliability is a goal, going with the manufacturer battery is worth the premium price. We've never had a problem with Canon batteries even after three years of sometimes rough use.
