[Glass] Every lens needs a UV filter for protection. To also get the polarizer for little more is worth it.

[Multi Coated] I needed a filter for a prime lens. I mainly use this lens indoors and did not need UV protection. I needed a filter to keep from scratching the lens and that it does.

[77 mm] I purchased this along with a used Sigma 50mm. It's a good filter for UV and lens protection.

[UV] It's nice having the UV filter as well as the added peace of mind of a bit of protection for the lens!

[Aluminum] Terrific UV filter...also serves as protection for the lens...an inexpensive insurance policy in the event of an accident....a wise investment.

[Thread] Installed on my P950 trying both in front of UV filter and behind. Liked it best behind filter. I like the added protection to my lens. With the reverse locking, very easy to switch around an use or leave it locked in place. Great service BHP!

[UV] I leave the UV filter on my wide angle lens for protection. These are both very thin and I haven't seen any vignetting. The polarizer is a great tool for sky/cloud shots and reducing water glare. This is a good combination!

[UV] I use the Zeiss UV filters on the front of every lens I own. They provide top-shelf protection against the elements, and are extremely easy to screw on and off. Never once have one of these filters gotten jammed onto one of my lenses. While they do provide excellent protection, I never shoot with one of these UV filters on the lens. I prefer to only use a filter when absolutely necessary (i.e. ND filters or a polarizer)...otherwise I want nothing between the lens and the subject. Any UV filter, regardless of its quality, can introduce flair or other unwanted reflections if you are shooting directly into the sun or into another light source.
