Wdr Surveillance Cameras

[1] I was looking for a turret camera for my new place but wasn't sure on distances and angles as I had not moved in yet. I was also concerned about lighting as it would be very bright in the first half of the day and dim during the second half of the day. I installed the camera (I had to look up a video to figure everything out to get it apart and then installed). My only issue with the camera is that when WDR is turned on, the image starts to have additional artifacts / graininess added to the video. This is somewhat understandable since the image is being processed. Turning off WDR make this go away. Due to the high resolution of the camera, when I am viewing multiple cameras in blue iris, this camera appears a little blocker than lower resolution cameras. Lowering the resolution closer to 1080p resolves the issue if needed. I left it at 3200 1800 which gives me 30 fps at 60hz while still giving me hq video. If I select to view only that camera feed, the video resolves fine. I suspect this might be a limitation with the blue iris software. IR works great and different IR cameras kick in depending on the zoom level. I also have an exterior mic attached to the camera which is working great.

[50 Devices] There are lots of free applications for IP Cameras, but if you're serious about IP Surveillance you can't do better than Axis Camera Station, and the best way to acquire the licenses is from B&H.

[10 Gb/s ] I wanted to set up some surveillance cameras that required PoE, and this switch required little technical knowledge and worked right away!

[Clamp] On a whim, I thought I'd try using this to hold my tablets on my desk while working and watching news and surveillance cameras. Put on mini, adjustable tripods which allows me to add more devices on already cluttered desktop without adding too much footprint.

[1 x 100 W] We have purchased two of these so far to use primarily as NVRs for a large number of IP cameras on a school campus. Licensing costs aside, Synology Surveillance Station does a really nice job making it easy to set up and scale with the number of cameras you have. We linked two together, making one the primary and the other a secondary target for recordings. Surveillance Station records direct-to-disk, and does a decent job of adjusting camera settings directly using ONVIF. We have about 50+ cameras running at resolutions from 1280x720 up to 2560x1600, some PTZ, some ceiling-mount fisheyes, mostly wide angle fixed, and everything works pretty well. We were even able to use the manual camera configuration to use some uncommon double-lens cameras. With about 26 cameras assigned to each RS422+, we see about 20-25% CPU on each on average during a typical day. We can comfortably handle 32 per unit, and supposedly up to 40 if needed. With x4 6TB drives in each set in SHR-1 (equivalent to RAID5) we have about a month or so of footage retention. The licensing is a little pricey at $50 per camera (unless you buy in bulk from some european IP camera shops...), but it is perpetual and I think worth the expense. Using two of these units, 8 cheap drives from eBay (luckily these do not suffer from the Synology whitelist) and a bunch of camera licenses, for around under $5000 I was able to build and set up a really easy to use and reliable NVR system with plenty of future expandability. 2-3 users are regularly connected on their desktops without issue.

[550 TB] We've been using the Purple WD hard drives for several years on our surveillance cameras. The have worked flawlessly. The price is reasonable and it's a snap to install and initialize.

[70 G] My surveillance NVR came with a 2TB hard drive, with 8 cameras it needed more storage. This WD Purple 8TB provided that extra storage capacity.

[Optical] I sell these with Surveillance DVR's and they are the best! Nuf said!!!
