[Latch] Build, insert, and lock top notch. Even room to load load controller with control levers in place. Don't hesitate

[11.0" (27.9 cm)] Dear Uri, you're using it backwards. The thumb screw goes on the device end, not the camera end. And there is a lock washer for the camera end. Works great under heavy stress.

[Ball Head] I just need something to hold my Canon 600ex-rt on top of light stand. There is somekind of lock to prevent from losing screw. quick releas plat is awesome.

[4] I no longer have to miss photo opportunities because of a heavy load of gear. The GT1532 is a breeze to carry around and set up, particularly compared to my aluminum tripod. I shot some landscape examples with my walking-around lens and with Canons 11-24mm monster. Not a hint of vibration with either. So far Im delighted with the results. I think the flip lock for leg extension is easier to use on my old model than Gitzos twist lock, but that may simply be a factor of getting used to it. In any event, its a minor irritation compared to the advantages of using a great, lightweight tripod. Definitely recommend it to friends.

[5.8 lb] I absolutely love this tripod. As heavy as it is though, call me crazy, I find myself wanting a hook on the bottom of the center column in the same manner as the rapid column. Searching and searching I've yet to find one. However for $12 I believe I've found a better solution. I found everything between the hardware and lock aisles at my local Lowe's home improvement store. The thread on the bottom is the usual 3/8 inch so you need a 3/8-16 coupling nut, 3/8 etc Specialty Bolts drawer. Then I can attached a 3/8 inch Eye Bolt (load capacity of 160 lbs). Over in the lock aisle they have heavy duty carabiners. I got the 5/8 x 4+3/4 Interlocking Spring Snap, which wide enough to accommodate the handle of about any bag. Its load capacity is 738 lbs. Hope this helps

[0.715 lb] Works as advertised! It's responsive and easy to use. My only minor complaint is the flashing blue light which can be a little annoying in a dark venue But, I realize there has to be some way to know that it's on

[ 45 Hours] This flashing is amazing. The variable light settings to the strobe. No concerns on purchasing the light at all. I would love to give one to every person in my family. BUY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!

[Rectangle] I own or have owned every light known to man. (ok, slight exaggeration). I currently have the Gemini Soft, Gemini Hard. and Kino Freestyle LEDs of a variety of sizes. Never mind Apurtures and Nanlites plus a few of them lightweight flexible led panels. But when I need a fast and simple setup, I always got back to these Astra Softs. And when I look at the image, I wonder why I went and bought all those other expensive fixtures. Just today I shot a multicamera interview for ABC's new show Impact with the U.S Attorney investigating the Matthew Perry case and because going thru security was so complicated and time was of essence, I chose to bring these lights instead. I loved the picture to much I wondered to myself why I keep buying these way more expensive fancy lights. And the beauty of these is that I can fly them with a micro 150 battery and because I rarely have to turn them up all the way, they will last the length of some of these long interviews no problem. I did notice on this thread some folks complaining about these lights failing them, and have heard similar complaints from other Astras too. I have never had any issues with these or my other Astras, but that's likely because I read the instructions that clearly state you should dim the lights all the way down before you turn them on, wait until the flashing green light stops flashing, and then dim up at your heart's desire. And always before I turn them off, I dim them down all the way, as not to forget. That might be the secret. I see people using them wrong all over the place.

[Lead-Acid] I bought this a month ago when the battery died (I unfortunately did not notice the low battery flashing light indicator). The replacement battery arrived very promptly, was easy to install, and my backup is operational again — and just in time because a tornado hit here a few days later and I lost power for 8 hours.

[1000D Cordura] Great size, love the built in light (it has flashing mode for some reason, just if you need to give someone a seizure on a film set?) I have always wanted this Porta Brace bag but kept talking myself out of it. I finally pulled the trigger on buying one and I'm glad I did. Sometimes I have a small lens in it if i am shooting an event with a smaller camera, but on a full set I kit it out with all the tools I'll need. for camera department. If you are on the fence about it, do it.
